Unfortunately, we got some bad news today - Sebastian has several lung mets now showing on his chest x-ray.

Sebastian, while still eating like a champ and remaining active, has been slowing down and has had a couple coughing episodes in the past few days (which is why we took him in today).

We are going to try a couple things, but I believe the most important thing at this time is prepare to say goodbye and ensure that his final days on this side of the bridge are filled with as many tasty treats, hugs, and petting. We have got a referral to a vet that does in-home euthanasia, when that time comes.

Thank you to everyone who has provided support and words of wisdom. You guys are truly an amazing group of people with some amazing pups.

Rotten crap disease.  Sorry to hear this.

Sebastian didn't hear it though!   Every video, every picture, shows Sebastian is NOT buying into any stinking xrays.

And yes, it's good for anyone on this journey, or even if you aren't,  to always have a "plan" in place for at home transitions whenever possible..   so you've done that and can now put that behind you.  You can check out some good options to continue to keep him comfortable and enjoying life that aren't invasive...and may even possibly stop the growth of thise things!  Check out metronomics , prednisone and Palladia for starters.   And there are things that can be given for the cough too.

And know this to be true.  In  no way is this an immediate "end".   Jerry, Sassy, are just two who come to mind who got great extended quality time!   My own Happy Hannah had a met "the size of a baseball" and lived life joyoisly even sfter that!!

You can now fully focus on living  in the moment...just like Sebastian!!!   Fortunately tiring easily doesn't hurt at all!   It just means more time to lounge around for tummy rubs, hanc fed cheeseburgers, ice cream...............and great pictures AND video to share with the SEBASTIAN FAN CLUB (us)!! 🙂

We're cheering for you Sebastian!!    We hereby declare EVERY DAY SEBASTIAN DAY!!!! 🙂 🙂

Love and hugs

Dangit that bites, I'm really sorry. Did the vet recommend any kind of treatment to slow those buggers down?

We agree with Sally...Sebastian doesn't know what the vet says, and he's still eating and enjoying life. Keep doing what you're doing (good job reaching out to the at-home vet ahead of time), and remember that in the future there will be a time for tears, but it's not now. This is the best time to practice mindfulness about the most ordinary things...which are blessings x10 in a situation like this.

If you ever want to talk about what's going on, we are here. Give that boy a big ol' belly scratch from us.

The video you shared on his fifty day mark of him running was really special to me. It convinced me that I could amputate Otis' leg. I am so sorry to hear this but it sounds like Sebastian has plans to enjoy himself right now and that's what matters. Give him a big belly rub and a thank you from me and Otis-- that video changed our perspective completely and he is an amazing dog! Big hugs,

Camille and Otis

Thank you, that means a lot! That video is very special to me as well!

I don't regret the amputation one bit, to see the look in his eyes once the pain was gone... I'd do it again in a heartbeat.  He still has that look when we come home or it's time to eat, so we'll enjoy our time with him... however long it lasts.

And best of luck to Otis... Sebastian likes that he was able to encourage others to hop along with him.  I'll be sure to let him know today.

I'm so glad you have that camera (arlo?) ro catch these everyday moments!!!   To have a glimpse I to their everyday actions is such a treasure 🙂

So is Mojo going in to wake Sebastian up to go outside and potty and sunbathe??   In ove how truly happy they are to head outside together and just be dogs!  Look at those tails wag!   Sweeeet!!

I love how they are just enjoying veing together sniffing all the wonderful scents of nature.

As beautifully expressed by CAMILLE, Sebastian is DEFINITELY an inspiration and has clearly already had a life affirming impact on Otis, and countless others in years to come!   These videos of Sebastian living @ife to the fullest on three is such a beautiful sight to behold! 🙂 🙂

And Sebastian has a lot more inspiring videos yet to make!!!    He clearly is a happy dude and is enjoying his adorable self and all the loving and spoiling

Keep these videos and pictures coming!  He lights up our day! 🙂   And Mojo too!

I don't have a lot of words, but we are happy for every day we have... just a couple pics from yesterday.

We wanted to get Sebastian at least one more grooming day in. His sister Mojo got to indulge too.. They were happy to pose!

And I kid you not that Sebastian loves his favorite things (see his latest blog post).

I caught a quick pic of him last night with one of his favorite things.

We are learning to cherish each and every day with them. It's harder some days, but I keep reminding myself to Be More Dog , just like Sebastian, who is not concerned with tomorrow. Last night we started him on sanshedan, and combined with the cough medicine earlier in the day, we haven't noticed him cough yet. That makes his quality of life stable, at least for today!

LOOK AT THAT TUMMY!! 🙂 🙂 🙂   Look at  that soft pink tummy!!  Smooching it through the screen!!   Sebastian is "one" with that sofa!  It CLEARLY is one of his favorite pastimes!! 🙂

And the photo of Sebastian all groomed up.....OMD....SO CUTE!!! 🙂 🙂  He looks soooo soft and fluffy!!  He and Mojo really do see to enjoy "modeling"! 🙂 🙂 And he and MoJo are almost twins!  You really got "cuteness overload" when you took these two into your home!! 🙂

Really glad his coughing has subsided.  And even if he does cough off and on, it's still not something that would interrupt his quality of life.  And from the looks of these picture snd his videos, he's still a very happy boy!! 🙂 🙂

You're doing an EXCELLENT jobmof staying in the present!  Sebastian is a really good teacher.  Just follow his lead and know that all is well in Sebastian's world today.  And today is all that matters!  NOTHING will rob you of your time together today!

Keep the adorable pictures coming! 🙂 🙂  You don't need to worry 'bout "words".  We just have to have our Sebastian Cuteness Fix!!

Hugs.....and give Sebastian an extra tummy rub for me!

Collecting moments one day at a time. Sebastian had another good day yesterday. No coughing, very energetic, as all these happened yesterday.

Now we're off to see if today can bring some more good moments.
