I apoligize for being off line for the past month; I am a member of our (Sun City Palm Desert) emergency prepardness committee. SCPD is located approximately 1,500 yards from the San Andreas fault; our annual earthquake drill was in October, I made a major training presentation to our volunteers and was preparing for Rusty's presentation to the Pet Club. Now that all of that is behind me, I have time to catch up on all of the postings.
I posted an update to Rusty's blog covering the past month and his "big night". He celebrated, quietly, his nine month ampuversary on October 25 and Dr. Macy is keeping his fingers crossed that he will continue doing well and keep up his great fighting spirit. Both Dr. Huber and Dr. Macy said that they are optimistic that he will be with us for his 3rd birthday in July, and they want to be invited to his party. However, as I said in the blog update, Dr. Macy also shared with us for the first time on Saturday that Rusty's cancer was so aggressive that he did not anticipate his surviving very long after surgery. We will continue to appreciate every day that he is with us!
The presentation to the Pet Club went very well, we are still receiving thank yous for sharing his story and having his Dr.'s address the club. One member who has just gone through Prostate cancer, said that he learned more about cancer from listening to Dr. Macy than from his own Dr.
Chuck & Rusty
Rusty is a Labradoodle who was diagnosed with level 3 Fibrosarcoma on January 16th, 2010 and had his left hind leg amputated on January 25th, 2010 five days before his 18 month birthday. Please see Rusty's blog @rusty.tripawds.com. He is putting up one heck of a fight against this terrible disease.
Nine Months? Hooray for Rusty! Thanks for the great update. 🙂

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Sounds like Rusty is one lucky pupper! Nine months is fantastic, and especially with the prognoisis the Dr had. Keep on going little guy, we've missed your little face the last month, glad you were out making a name for yourself and all tripawds.

My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Hoppy 9 month ampuversary Rusty. Hoping many more ampuversaries will be coming your way!

Excellent news Rusty!
It's a little chilly here for ice cream to celebrate so we'll substitute with cookies!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
