Knock on wood that the surgery and day-1 recovery go well, our 6 1/2 yr old Bernese Mt. Dog shall join the tri clan tomorrow morning. He'll be much happier, and is already walking around on 3, so we're hoping he has a leg up on starting rehab. He was just in surgery a month ago, for a tplo, when a tumor was found in his stifle joint. Got the test results no one wants...so here we are!

Love the Avatar picture of Mr rufus. Such a handsome boy.

Going in for a tplo, only to find out amputation was the best option had to be a little bit of a shock!  You are definitely doing the right thing and getting rid of that bum painful leg. It does sound like he's already started adapting to three.

Let us know how surgery goes when you get a chance. Is he staying at an overnight fully staffed clinic for a day or two? Recovery is no picnic for about 2 weeks and getting the pain management under control is crucial. Lots of rest for now, short leashed potty breaks and back to bed for more rest.

Will look for your update and be glad to answer any questions as they arise.

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
