Oh goodness gracious Riot! Time for you to be BFF with that come of yours!! I think the cone removal countdown is about another five days?? Maybe less?? Of course, we know you don't count days on a calendar and you live jn the NOW. Darn though, the "now" for you is to get that dcone off!!!
Let us know how the Vet trip goes.

Thank you both. He's supposed to get the stitches out Saturday, but we'll see. He has to go in for chemo blood work either way.
He really is running me ragged. Of course he's worth it. I just wish we could get a break. Cancer and chemo are hard enough. As to money, thankfully, I have pet insurance. It's saved his life.
I'll post tonight after the vet.
I hope it's an easy thing to treat. You guys have truly ben through a lot, I'm sure the break is just over yonder.
Let us know what the vet says. And if at some point you'd like to post a review of your pet insurance company in our Forums, I know others would find it useful. See:

What a relief. It's just a very mild infection. The vet said it's nothing serious, but we need to treat it before it becomes that way. One week of antibiotics is no big deal. As long as we can get them down.
I'll write a review soon. I still need to write up a page for the PT fund.
I am glad it is minor and was caught quickly! Breathe... they say everything comes in threes.... surely this is three, right? Riot you need to chill now buddy boy Mama needs a break

YAAAAAY FOR MINOR!!!!😁😀
Don't worry about writing reviews or PT posts for now. You just focus on YOU getting some rest! Riot is doing just fine!!!

#&%@! Riot ripped his stitches out. My Dad called. He left the cone off for a second so he could get up the stairs, before giving him his pain pill. He never should have left it off. Now he's going back to the vet, hopefully not for more surgery. My Mom did the same thing with my other dog after he had a tumor removed, and he ended up with a massive scar and two more weeks in a cone. I'm so worried Riot will need more surgery. Now I wait for the call from the vet or my Dad. He only had three more days, but that was the earliest they may have been ready to be removed. No guarantee.
Both stitches were still there. There's a tiny flap too small to suture, that will look a bit off. It shouldn't effect his eye function. He was only out about 30 minutes. He'll get picked up in an hour or so. I wish I hadn't missed so much work so I could go. One week until lung scans. I'm hoping I've used up my bad news.
Oh man.... I'm really glad he's ok but it's enough stress to drive you crazy!!
Sending a big hug to you and tell Riot he's grounded and gonna have that thing super glued on to him if he doesn't behave

And are these the types of shenanigans that helped RIOT get his name?? Do you think it would help to change his name to...hmmm...DULL...or maybe BORING???
Okay, sounds like everything is "steady" again....knocking on wood!
And don't be upset with your Dad. Riot is a very determined and smart boy. He knows how to outwit anyone...especially a caring Grandpa😉

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.
