Radar has been a shining star to me but not just me. Radar was a show dog who made his mark not only with a wonderful attitude but also, ironically enough, with outstanding awe inspiring movement. He earned his American and Canadian championships easily before he was 2 years old.
Since Radar's diagnosis I have spoken with friends about it but from there the word spread. Radar has received prayers and well wishes from all around the country, Canada and Australia. Tears have been shed by all who met him directly as Radar has a way of touching your heart should you ever meet him.
I personally have always thought he was amazing. Happy, goofy and caring. He babysat a litter of 6 pups on a drive cross country as if they were his own and then demanded to be kept near them as we stayed with friends. He treats stuffed animals as if they were alive, gently cradling and nuzzling them and never chewing them up. He loves to wash my husbands toes and will stand there looking at him reproachfully after dinner until the socks are removed and he can have his toe fix. But.... the outpouring from around the world that we have received has blown me away.
I am so grateful and know that if prayers and well wishes help the healing process he will be doing excellent. I am also grateful that I found this forum and can share his story with others.

Welcome Radar! You are so cute! Spanky is 2 weeks post-amp and he is doing excellent! We wish you health and a speedy recovery. This forum has been a wonderful support system for us during such a difficult time. Do you have any pictures of Radar that you can share with us? Please keep us posted. Happy Tails!

Hi Spanky, you're cute too!
I don't have any post-op pics of Radar yet but you can see some photos of him (pre-op) at http://www.eido.....#038;id=67
He's just lovely.
As a sighthound owner, you'll probably know how beautiful the Deerhound gait is. I don't think about it too much but I do feel a little sad knowing that Darcy has lost that forever. Of course, I'd rather have her here with me with 3 legs than not have her at all - of that there is no question - but that gait is certainly missed.
Darcy – tripawd since 16th October 2007.
***Darcy would love to be your friend on Facebook - just search for Darcy Deerhound***
Hi Radar, thanks so much for sharing your story with us! You are a true champ.
Hey I was wondering; will you still compete now as a Tripawd?

Thank you Bevd. I love Deerhound movement as well. It is very similar to borzoi movement. If I ever branched out into another breed I would seriously think about a deerhound.
Radar will not actually compete for titles any more but there are many events that he can participate in. Our goal is next year's Borzoi Nationals which will be held in my state in march 2009. They always have a Parade of Companions. Radar really loved going to the shows and being in the limelight. so the parade of companions will be perfect so he can feel like he's in the ring again. The other even he competed in is lure coursing and he was crazy for the plastic bunny. I may take him to some fun runs and have them move the lure slow for him and not let it go a full course. He would love that too.

Yeay! That is so great to hear, it really shows people that Tripawds are indeed awesome. When he does compete, be sure to have someone record it so we can post the movie here, OK?
Woof! Woof!

Dear Connie and Radar - thank you for sharing your story with us...we never get tired of hearing about the bond between the human and the dog. It's one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced in my own life...the unique bond with my two boys (Zeus is my tripawd guy and Buddy is a golden that I rescued) and all the joy, happiness and unconditional love that they have provided me in the past 10 and 7 years.
You both sound incredibly remarkable and we look forward to hearing more!
