We got the radiology report back. Mister's tumor is completely localized and no cancer has spread. They say if we do the amputation he should be fine.
I'm trying to stay positive. Jumping is very important for Mister, so I am a little relieved it is not a problem with his back leg (though I'm sure kitties without a back leg do fine, I just know my boy).
This is getting expensive, but is so worth it. He is being treated at the nicest animal hospital I've ever been to. They're a referral/specialist and emergency hospital only. So it is full of a very competent staff, and it's open 24/7. I'm relieved that Mister will be recuperating with them in a place that gives around-the-clock care.
We got Mister and his brother a new cat tree that has a ramp, and some window shelves to give him space so that his balance does not prevent him from enjoying the windowsills. I'm getting him a shallow litter box that I will keep very clean. I'm sewing up some oensies so that he doesn't have to wear a cone.
Anyway, if anyone has any remaining advice, please let me know. But I wanted to let you all know how much better we feel about Mister's future now.
Thank you so much for your support.

Sounds like you have things pretty good and under control. Although I am not experienced in a Kitty Tripawd, there are many here who are.
My one suggestion is this... when you go pick up your furbaby... don't focus on the leg that missing.. focus on the fact that they are just so gosh darn happy that you are there!!!
Good luck! Keep us updated!
Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
That is great news!!!! As a rear legged kitty amp Jill definitely needs a little boost with the jumping so I'm happy as a jumper it's his front arm! Keep us posted as to when you schedule the surgery!!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Yea for good news! Glad to hear you are fighting to stay positive. That probably helps more than anything. It does not mean you won't have a scare or two along the way. I think we all do, but hopefully by then you will be well seasoned at that positive attitude.
Good luck with the surgery and wishing Mister a speedy recovery.
