Today we took Tasha to the vet, her back right leg knee joint got very swollen, it didn't seem to bother her but we knew she needed to be seen. The Dr. looked at it and decided he needed to aspirate it to see what the fluid looked liked. When he inserted the needle blood came pouring out. The amount of blood that drained out was so much and it just continued to pour out. He tried using syringes to empty the swollen part of her leg but know matter how much blood he took out the swelling never went down. He used that word tumor and I thought NO oh please NO, he took a sample of blood to look at under the microscope and feels that we aren't dealing with a tumor but a bleed. He is puzzled by what is going on with her. He thinks she must have injured her tendon and it is bleeding so he put a big compression bandage on her leg which we will leave on until Friday, increase her Rimadyl to twice a day. He is hoping the bandage will stop the bleed and her body will absorb the blood but on Friday if that hasn't happened then he said surgery will be necessary.
Tasha could really use your strength and your pawsitive energy, ( so could I ) as we wait and pray that the news on Friday will be the news we want to hear.

Lisa, Ranger and Spirit Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.
