Oh...how cute! And I know what you mean by the wait. I dropped off Cadence early in the morning. They said they would call me when she was done. Well, I thought since they needed her so early they would be done early. Well by three I was pacing the office like a mother dog about to give birth. LOL
I finally called and they said she was just going in. They said surgeries don't start until 1 pm. There was another dog before her that needed a procedure. They called me about 6 PM to tell me she was ok. But I could have used that info about the 1 PM start time because I spent my whole day anxious and worried, not able to concentrate at work. That looks like a nice size crate and already glad he likes it. Wishing him a smooth, successful surgery.
Cadence's Mom
Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!
Sending out pawsitive thoughts for today!! Hang in there. The waiting is so hard!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Oh! Why do people always think they know what is best for someone else. If a person takes nothing else away from this experience it should be to NEVER think you know what's best for someone else. Just like your family member does NOT know what is best for your family and YOUR Piper. Don't let them drag you down. You're making this decision out of pure love and thats the most anyone could ask for. You can't go wrong with that. Thinking of you and Piper today.

Oh Piper!!! What cute pics...and your daughter is adorable. Piper is a lucky Tripawd Warrior Princess to be! Looks like you have it all set up so let us know how she does. As far as other peoples' comments, #&@* them. Piper is your dog and you are doing what you think is the best thing for her. If you had asked for an opinion from whoever it was then it might mean something. I have often heard people under their breath saying "why would someone do that to their dog", or "I would never", blah, blah, blah. It's always easy to sit and judge when they have no idea of what they are looking at or the circumstances. I am proud of my tripawd. Ignore those people.
Let us know about Piper.....

So glad to hear that Piper's surgery went well! Love the photos of Piper and your daughter.
** Love is a truly a wonderful and powerful thing!**
Hang in there.... the next 2 weeks may a little trying, but it will all work out for the best.
When you see Piper for the first time try to focus on how proud you are and think pawsitively. When we saw our Hunter for the first time after surgery we showered him with praise and kisses. We were so grateful to have our dog back that it took over our shock.
You are in the right place for support, encouragement and education.

Our Super Dog Hunter crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on a beautiful summer day in July, just 3 days shy of his 10th Birthday. He gave us everything since he was 8 weeks old. Hunter was a 14 month warrior of OS. We LOVE and MISS him every day.
Yeay for a successful surgery!
