I just wanted to share this with all my friends in this amazing Tripawd community...
I had the honor of a lifetime today. I have been doing rescue tranports on the weekends to pay it forward for bringing Miss Pegz into our lives. This morning I transported two Tripawd Warrior Princesses...all the way from Tehran, Iran. Brave and beautiful souls ...on their way to a happy rest of their lives. ♥
we are so honored, to know our ET juju was there to witness the miracles you helped to create. gayle is smiling!!
charon & spirit gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Awwwwww That really warms my heart!
If I had know, I would have gotten some business associates to tell me words in Farsi to help you communicate with them!
What a wonderful thing - if only our politicians could see this...
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I am so thrilled that you have saved those beautiful girls lives. Thank you so much for doing that. You will be earning lots of good karma!!
They have travelled a long way, how confusing for them, how scary. I hope whoever adopts them will be a wonderful forever family and treat them with lots of love and kindness.
I can't say enough good things about this and your part in this. It makes me so happy when I see someone being wonderful to an animal in need. Much applause!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
They are beautiful, and you are so kind. Do they already have their forever homes? I hope so!
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
What a wonderful, beautiful thing to do! We would love to hear more about these gorgeous pups when you get a chance. Do they have a home lined up? How were they found? Oh so many questions.
Thank you for paying it forward and being there for these very special dawgs.

Here is a reply from someone involved in the Rescue...I was stunned. Up close and personal and cuddling with them, you could NOT tell these girls never had a home. Or maybe a kiss, hug or a word softly whispered in their ear.
In fact, Miss Nanaz had no ears....just holes with nothing to cover them. They were sweet and gentle and loving...scared, but not mistrustful. Apparently, these girls have been protected from harm for quite sometime in this shelter in Iran. In a place where often there is little value even on human life. I am blown away by the dedication and love of the people involved in this rescue and the VAFA shelter. And hats off to Laura Harper...our totally awesome Transport Coordinator.
"Let me tell you a brief story: unfortunately stray dogs in Iran don't have much of chance for a good life. Shadi and Nanaz are SO LUCKY as they were picked to be on this beautiful journey. They are not cute puppies, are disabled and have never lived in a home- still people cared enough for them to be taken care of in Vafa Animal Shelter ( http://cal.ir/m.....n/?lang=en ), then paid for their expensive journey to North America, arranged for their medical/check up, welcomed them in here, overnighted them and transported them to their new homes. As they had to be checked in with a passenger and couldn't go as luggage, Vafa coordinators needed a passenger from Iran with a destination close to Maryland, that unfortunately wasn't an easy task to do. As we usually have more passengers coming from Iran to Toronto and we have already moved an Iranian dog from Toronto to her new home in Delaware (Thanks to amazing Lucy Moye), we took advantage of the kindness of you awesome transporters again and decided to bring these two lucky dogs to Toronto and then move them to Maryland. This time, Laura Harper and her great team stepped up to be a very critical part of these dogs' journey and we are SO GRATEFUL!"
Wow! Wow! Wow! What a journey for these two pups! I want to follow along with their story. Do they have a blog or website where we can?

How awesome to be a part of that! Gorgeous pups!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Well Shadi (gray brindle) hopped off the Liberty Train one stop before the end because she already has a foster family!!!
I am so happy because she is the one I was most concerned about. She is missing half a back leg and frankly, it did not appear to have been amputated. More like she got lucky and healed from some horrific accident. Her other back leg was going in and out of a kind of paralysis, so she was dragging both back legs. Nanaz made it all the way to the receiving rescue in MD. They have a website, but it appears under construction...

Of course rescues are 100% volunteer, so it is hard to fault them for not keeping immediately current on the site.
The reason I drive for Tranports like Liberty Train is because I trust them on all the information I get. The sending party, the receiving party as well as a lot of info on each of my passengers (health, vaccines, spay/neuter, behavior issues, etc.).
We are getting ongoing updates and pictures, so a happy ending all around!! My transport partners and I sent giftbags along with our Girls. Miss Pegz included a booty (to protect the other paw), some chewies and a Tripawds business card. And my friend Sue made them blankets to welcome them home to the US.
Shadi.....
And Nanaz....
Oh wow, their stories are just so touching. I love those pics, they just appear so relieved.
And all those folks who helped them arrive to such a great new life...these things really do keep my faith in humanity alive. There are INCREDIBLE people out there, like you Karen, thank you.
Beautiful!
