Today Paris celebrates 11 months! I feel so blessed that she is still with us. Her diagnosis of osteosarcoma came after limping for 5 months and I felt like we had lost so much time. She had her amputation on Jan. 5th, 2009. After 4 rounds of chemo, Carboplatin her chest x-ray showed multiple lung mets in April. We came home and after crying for a day decided that nothing had changed. She did not know she had cancer, Jim & Rene reminded us!!
Although I am full of joy, I face this disease realistically. I am very aware of the losses our Tripawds community has endured and will endure. For today we are good and I celebrate that moment today! Paris is still hanging in there…..maybe she will have a cheeseburger today!!
Thank you to all my co-Tripawd pawrents and especially Jim & Rene for all the support,
Gineej & Paris
Grateful for every moment we had with Paris…..no regrets!
Honoring her life by opening our hearts & home to Addy!
Happy Ampuversary, Paris. Enjoy your day, eat lots of cheeseburgers!

Gineej & Paris,
Every day that we get to spend with our special companions is a day of celebration, but reaching such a milestone is truly a reason for PARTY!!! We are soooo... glad that you will be facing this holiday season together and you can use the word "good" to describe Paris's condition. While cheeseburgers sound great and have worked with all my previous dogs, the only time that I gave one to Cherry she presented it back to me an hour later. Not sure if I will try that one again. We will be celebrating vicariously which means that Cherry will start with a special breakfast, have a truck ride, lots of hugs, and ICE CREAM!! Her mom and I will just toast you, but that sound that you will be hearing today will not be because of today's college football, but rather cheering this wonder accomplishment.
I hope that you do not mind if I do not approach this disease realistically but rather fully expect Paris to be able to celebrate a one year ampuversary, 13th month, 14th month...... We have already made our plans to return to Yellowstone for the month of June where Cherry will be celebrating her 19th month of this journey. Soon I will be posting the story of Fallbrook who was able to celebrate five years of cancer remission and while this was not the same cancer, it provides us with inspawration. When it comes to our special companions, I always believe in shooting for the stars and Paris has definately shown herself to be a star.
Jumping with joy and wishing many more celebrations,
Bob & Cherry

Congratulations to Trouble's calendar mate on your 11 month ampuversary. How special it is as you begin to approach that 1 year mark. I know exactly how you felt last Christmas. I was all but sure we wouldn't be celebrating this year with Trouble either, but they have both proven to be tough little fighters. Paris rocks!
