Shelby stayed 3 nights at the veterinary specialist hospital in Tampa Bay.......as much as I missed her, I am SO grateful that someone was there 24/7 to keep an eye on her pain management and allow her to recover.
Hang in there....before you know it, you'll be doing your best to keep Joey from bouncing off the walls.
I am glad that Joey is doing so well! pain management is a very scary thing, or it was for me. My boy had phantom pain and it was so upsetting for everyone, him of course and all of us having to try and help him. It is great that your Vet feels they want to keep such a close eye on him. Get sleep, if I am counting right today should be the big day. Let us know how he is faring 🙂

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Latest update..
Joey is doing very well. I took him back to the vet yesterday just for a double check because I'm a worrywart. They said he is doing fantastic and removed the bandage from the amputation site. He was interested in the wound at first but after getting a good look and sniff and a couple of licks, he is leaving it alone. He is such a trooper even with is front foot all bandaged up too.
Still, we aren't getting much sleep. His biggest problem seems to be with razor stubble. It's driving him nuts! He has had that problem in the past, unfortunalty only time can help that but putting boxer briefs on him helps a bit because it applies a little pressure to the area and again from past events we know that pressure on the area helps with the itchys.
He pulled a stunt yesterday and jumped up on the couch. He didn't hurt himself at all and seemed quite proud of himself for doing it but it gave us a heart attack. It was a surprise because he had been spending his time on his Coolbed without moving around to much and being good, but I guess he had a burst of energy, not that he has lost it. Still jumps around outside when he goes out to go. He's just that kind of guy...
Happy to hear Joey is doing so well! Thanks for the update.
