Thank you so much for your thoughtful kind reply and the beautiful candle, Sally xoxoxoxo

My Dad is leaving behind his feline Darling Sammi, an inside and outside amazing chimera girl.

She was his faithful companion for 9 years, his soul buddy, nurse and guardian. It was incredible what bond they had, she never ever left his side.

Thankfully she isn't really "left behind", she can stay in the same house and is now in the care of my Dad's neighbor and friend where her brother lives.
She also goes outdoors why I am so thankful she can stay at the place she knows best and with a person she already is so familiar with.
If it wasn't like that we would have let her join our furry family.
Hard enough she loses her human, why I'm relieved she additionally doesn't have to leave her "territory".

I believe the spirits of my Dad and her will stay connected in another form, they went through so many ups and downs together.
My Dad loved her DEARLY. He was a cat person his whole life.

Thanks for letting me share this here.

My Dad fought cancer for 6 years after he initially was gives only 3 months.
This time was a gift and I am very proud of him.

THANK YOU <3

Bettina, we are so incredibly sorry. Yes, you can say that here. We are a safe place to vent and cry and scream as much as you want. Whatever you need to do, do it. Please take this time to heal, don't apologize to anyone and know that Jimmi and your critters are sources of strength and comfort during this very difficult time. I wish there was more we could do for you from this end. Please know you and your family are in our hearts, we send all our love and condolences.

By the way, Darling Sammi is indeed such a lucky girl to have such caring humans looking out for her. She and your Dad are so proud of the tribe they created. {{{{hugs}}}}

Thank you Jerry's pawrents, Holly and Purrkins.

I know people who have absolutely no connection to our animal brethren and specially in times like we are going through right now I think about what they miss in life. I wouldn't know what to do without our furry family members.
They SO sense when we are suffering or hurting. I came home crying, feeling all broken and as soon I laid down on the couch I was surrounded by all of them. They sat with me quietly, licking my face and hands, making eye contact, and all of this said more like thousand words.

So much love and comfort. Jimmi brought me all his toys today and last night I slept with his paw on my hand.

Bruno made the christmas tree collapse and this way taking down the decoration what was long overdue was done as well.
Well, each helps in their own fashionaw-shucks

Now I hope we'll all find some sleep this night, tomorrow morning Jimmi will get his third chemo.

Initially it was scheduled for tuesday, but as we all were up the night before, including Jimmi, I didn't want to lay that on him when he isn't well rested.

I will keep you all posted heart

Thank you for letting us get ro know your Dad a bit better. We already know he's a very special Soul because he has helped to shape his daughter into a lovely compassionate Soul. He's also quite special because of the love he has for BEAUTIFUL SAMMI and she for him. That ki d of bond can never be broken. And yes, he lives on through Sammi and through you. To blow those stupid statistics out of the water...well....that's quite SPECIAL too!! His legacy will continue to inspire anyone on this crazy journey...animal being or human being.

Make no mistake about it, he is so very proud of you!

It just warms my heart to know Sammi can stay in her territory and be looked after by that great neighbor. I know that gives your Dad such peace.

I know Jimmi and Bruno are tuned into your feelings and want to co fort you. I still nave mh Christmas tree up. I love the ambience of all the lights at night. Coukd I borrow Bruno to help me take it down??

Hugs and love

Jimmi's third chemo went very well again heart

Each time he gets another pressure bandage we remove after one hour, last time he had bunnies on it, this time elephants.

Just a sweet little detail I love our vet for smiley

Thank you, Sally!

The drive TO the vet he's always upset, specially when he has to be in the carrier...but as soon we are there everything is fine.

He lost a wee bit of weight comparing to last time, but not much.

Returning home always is a highlight cause he's always sooo happy then, like "I did it!", marching through every room, giving us headbutts and singing the song of his people laughing

What is very interesting is that after chemo he always seems to have cravings and has such good appetite
We rather expected nausea, but of course we are very pleased the opposite is the case!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. It's very special that he was able to blow the statistics and give you and Sammi six more years.

You have such a lovely pet family who is in touch with you and your feelings. Paw on hand, help taking down decorations.

I'm happy to hear that Jimmi is managing the chemo treatments so well. It sure sounds like he has something to say when he gets home!

Scratches and cuddles for all.

Yeah Jimmi's third chemo down & all is going well on the chemo end no side effects!👏🏻

We are cheering for you all! Team Jimmi and Team Bettina and furry family!

How many total treatments do they have planned for Jimmi? Or is that a depending factor?

I hope your all got some much needed sleep!

I am so happy you are surrounded by your furry family and all the love!

They are our special gifts and they will help you during this time and upcoming days!

Love the little critter vet wraps for Jimmi;) Jimmi looks great!

As for the car ride to the vet, have you tried feliway wipes on his carrier ? (not sure if you even have those there?) Might help him.

They make calming sprays also, you could spray in the car before putting Jimmi in for his vet trip.

Thanks for updating us ,Bettina you are stronger then you know!

HUGS and Scratches to allheart

Hi, how is everyone in Tripawd's Land?

Sorry we've been so absent, life was such a rollercoaster the past weeks and so incredibly much to take care of after my Dad's passing.

Jimmi had his fourth and fifth chemo. Unlike after the three first rounds he was a bit down afterwards. Two day after his fourth he threw up two times, and it wasn't just a usual kitty puke, it was evident that he felt sick to the stomach and also lost appetite for a few days, but then recovered pretty quickly, thankfully. After his fifth, the first day he was okay and then again showed some delayed side effects, sleeping a lot and again lack of appetite. It's been a week now and he is okay again, but after seeing him doin' not so well after the last two rounds I asked the vet if we can prolong the time in between. Only one round to go, but the vet agreed to make it four weeks until the next and last one.

What alarmed me a little is that since the treatment started he lost 600 gramm (we have gramm here in germany, I googled and if I understood this correctly about 1,3 - 1,4 pounds...?), what is quite a bit. I noticed it isn't only body fat he lost, but also muscle, despite of feeding him some extra cans "Pure Protein" wet food.
Currently he visually seems to pack a little bit back on, I hope I'm not wrong.

Anyway, he's back to playing, delivering his toy mousies and singing the songs of his people, what he always loves to do, he is very vocal.

The vet wants to wait with the scan until the final chemo is done, so I can't say yet if it was successful or not.
I'm quite nervous and hope it had the wanted effect.
We are aware there is no cure, but of course hope it slowed down or even erased some of his metas.

Hope everyone and all your furry are doin' as well as even possible!!! heart

Sounds like our "mature" Jimmi is doing very well! , Yeah, some bumps in the road can happen with chemo. I think spreading out the chemo (or maybe even reducing the amounta tiny bit?) .akes sense. It is cumulative. Another thing to asknthe Vet, is the sixth round statistically shiwn to make a measurable difference. I bring thatnup simply because some Oncos just do four rounds of Carboplatin with dogs and feel that's just as effective as more.

Maybe some of the kitty experts around here can help you with increasing his weight. Wondering if adding more carbohydrates, as well as increased amounts would help.

You've had a lot on your plate recently, so make sure you're taking care of yourself too, okay?

You KNOW we need video of Jimmi "singing the songs of his people" and bringing you his mousies 🙂 🙂

Lots of hugs to all

Awww yay for Jimmi! We're so glad he's feeling better. Don't apologize for not being here, we are just glad that he's a hoppy kitty again!

About his weight loss...yes, that is a lot of weight. What kind of diet is he on so that he can gain weight again? Did your vet prescribe any special foods? I ask, because some of the best advice I heard from oncologists all week at a veterinary conference we attended, is to keep cats and dogs with cancer eating. If you can keep the appetite strong and food coming into the body, it's an excellent way to fight the cancer.

Give Jimmi extra scritches from us!
