My beautiful queen - Happy 18th ampuversary! You've had such challenges along the way, totally unrelated to the cancer, and you're still a big happy girl able to inspire others. That is a HUGE accomplishment and a testiment to the wonderful care you receive.
Seeing your celebration announcement puts a smile in my heart and a tear in my eye (yes, I'm still so emotional about all of this). It was an honor to share being a member of the November 5, and it is an even greater honor to share being the surviving members with you.
Sue, I know from experience it is difficult to live with a drama queen. Drama is part of them wanting/needing our undivided attention. Is it because they don't feel well? Not sure I have the answer to that. I tend to believe it is because they have become accustomed to us catering to their every whim. It is how they communicate the need for your presence in their lives
Lots of love, hugs, & slurpies from our house to yours as you celebrate this wonderful, wonderful accomplishment. What a shining inspiration Nova is for the new members to aspire to.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Oh, Nova ... I am so very, very happy for you. 18months ... what an accomplishment!! Hoppy, hoppy Ampuversary!
Wouldn't it be so much easier if they could talk to us at times? I worry I misread Harley's signs, or see what I want to see there and not what he is really trying to tell me. I do agree with Trouble's Mommy, I think our Tripawds have become accustomed to us catering to them. I will keep you and Nova in my prayers.
Amputation on 11/10/09, due to Histiocytic Sarcoma in left elbow. Angel Harley earned his wings on 06/24/10.
Hoppy Ampuversary, Nova!!! Wishing you many more ups and a good long break from the downs!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
First let me say how sorry I am to hear about your cousin. How very sad and way to young.
Secondly, though, on a happier note. Congratulations on 18 months. Wow! I am overwhelmed. What a wonderful milestone. Please try not to feel guilty. Those of us that had too few celebrations need to be a part of yours. I am sorry Nova is having problems adjusting to her blindness. I don't know how to help you know if Nova is still enjoying life except to say that if you are unsure if it is time to let her go than it probably is not. Did that make sense? As I reread it I am not sure. My point is that Nova has not made it clear to you.
Long live the Queen!
Debra
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
Happy 18 month ampuversary Queen Nova!! That is amazing!!!
I'm sorry that Nova is having to deal with her blindness at the same time... That must be difficult.
I'm also so sorry to hear about your cousin's sudden death... That must have been an awful shock to you...
So many bad things happening in your life, but you have to stop and enjoy whatever joy that you can... cause as you see, life can be pretty short. As long as Nova doesn't seem to be in any pain, is still eating and enjoying being cuddled and loved...
I'm hoping that Nova adjusts to her total blindness and continues to do well...
Sending you and Nova a big fat hug!!!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
sigh. I lost my message again...I couldn't remember Nova's sister's name and went back to that page and it went POOF
My sympathies for the loss of your cousin at such a young age, just a youngster in the scheme of things. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOO
and For Nova AND Trouble....18 months...when a newcomer arrives here (and I was one not too long ago) and sees that, or sees Cherry's 405 days, and others that have had such amazing success with a variety of treatments (darn it we need the ONE THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE!) it gives us such hope and joy that we may (will) be among those long term survivors or that it will just go away completely...
Congratulations congratulations. Nova I know has the additional burden of the blindness and so do YOU....such dedicated parents you are to such large furkids (one of my favorite breeds and I often think...hmmmmmmm oh heck, they are ALL my favorite breeds)
She probably enjoys being catered to (unlike Magic who has had to get used to it...wds aren't generally noted for being velcro dogs and all my hovering made him nervous at first....well the dog in him came to the forefront and he is bearing with being spoiled....)
Having just gone through it, I think you will know when it is no longer what she wants to do or be....until then...if I might take a page out of Miss Cherry's Pawty Book....ICE CREAM FOR EVERYONE, THEN SECONDS
RAWR! Nova, how do you do it?!?!?!? Tell us the answers, queen of all that you survey (errmmm...or of all that you imagine you survey...which is pretty much everything!). ONE AND A HALF YEARS! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! Did you get your beef trachea again? Did you get to wear your boa? Did your mum take PICTURES?!?!?!?!? Unbelieveable...you are amazing.
<3 Laura and Jackaroo
p.s. don't we adopt dogs to snuggle? That's why I got a dog. We have mandatory snuggle time. Are you saying that blind dogs snuggle more? I may have to look into this...
