So we got a fine needle aspirate test on the lump on the side of her neck. We will see what's up with that. Hopefully it's nothing, but it's awfully hard. It'd be weird for fibrosarcoma tho since it's so far from her original site and as far as we could tell from x-rays it hadn't metastasized.
As for her new limp, it looks like she pulled a muscle or something similar. There is swelling up by her shoulder. We suspect she landed wrong, or, she has a habit of falling off of things and pulling herself back up with her front legs.... We could see how that might have gone a bit wrong. So she got a three day shot of her old friend buprenex and we're hoping we can get her to eat some wet food with cat-ibuprofen in it (pill shooters do NOT work for her) to help take the swelling down. She's high as a kite but seems to be feeling better, has even been up and around a little bit.
So she might be fine. 🙂 We're hopeful.
And we're all hopeful right along with you. Seems like she's feeling better and that's great news! Quite feisty little kitty!
Take care and keepmus posted. We're here withnyoi!
Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Sadly it's not good news. The cancer is back and this time it has metastasized. She's breathing hard and hiding all the time. The vet said she might live another week this way, but it's no life... We're having a vet come to the house today to put her to sleep. Fortunately, the weather (and I live in Seattle, so appreciate how miraculous this is) decided to coorperate this afternoon and it was not only sunny, but the sun was WARM. So we spent about four hours in the back yard in the grass until it was just too cold. In about two hours it will all be over and I'm...well, you can imagine. But...she doesn't want to go but she also seems to be resigned to the fact that her body is not giving her a choice. So, I guess I have to be too.
Some last pics for you of our beautiful girl enjoying herself today.
Thank you so much for all your support during this time. It meant a lot to me.
I am so sorry for your loss.... I'm from Seattle too (I live in Los Angeles now) but definitely the Seattle weather Gods were looking down on you.
Sending you lots of healing energy!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Ohhhh I just saw this, my heart breaks for you and Vin, I'm so sorry.
I hope that her last day with you was beautiful and full of love. I think that Seattle sun came out just for you both. I'm so sorry. Please know you are in our hearts and thoughts. Lots of love and condolences coming your way.
