Brandy losing her leg has made her more vocal! lol! 🙂Â
She has been so vocal today! 🙂Â
She has been talking back some, but has also been purring and telling me how much she loves me! lol. 🙂Â

She always chirped and meowed in excitement to see me, but her vocalizations after her surgery increased by a whole lot! lol. 🙂Â

Brandy tried to jump onto the couch with Tyler. She had gotten both front paws onto the couch, but had troubles balancing on her back leg and couldn't figure out how to propel herself onto the couch. Poor thang. She will get there some day though.Â
And I did ask Tyler if he wants some stairs for his couch. He said no. lol.Â

He did love her, he just didn't need the stairs for his couch. lol. 🙂Â
I captioned this photo, "Guess who just jumped on the couch to be with her momma! ♡"Â

I was taking a nap and felt something and so I opened my eyes are realized Brandy jumped onto the couch to be with me. Yes, she actually jumped onto the couch! 🙂Â
Waiting to be seen by the vet.Â

Went to the vet with Brandy this morning. The infection that is on the dead skin patch that is on her butt has spread all over the dead skin patch, so they are going to cut that area out, clean it up, then stitch it up. The dead skin patch on her leg is clear of infection, so they'll just stitch that area up. They may keep her over night or I may pick her up today depending on how late they do the surgery.
And Brandy weighed 12.3 lbs at the vet. She was 15.2 before her surgery, which was 2 weeks ago.
The vet said that I can let her eat as much as she wants right now to gain some weight back while she heals from all the surgeries. Then we will work on her weight loss after she heals up, so she can then lose weight at a slower and safer rate.Â

Brandy is in surgery right now. The vet will call me back when the surgery is done.
I still don't know if I'll bring her home today or tomorrow.Â

She came home and ate and drank right away. 🙂 "Â

On Thursday, November 10th, I texted my husband, "Brandy's back leg isn't working. She can't walk. I called the vet, but she was with a client. She'll call me back when she can."Â
That was texted at about 10:30a cst.Â
At about 11:10a cst, I texted my husband again and let him that know we were at the vet.Â
(I never got a call back from the vet. She was busy and the receptionist didn't let her know that I told her that Brandy's back leg wasn't working and that she couldn't walk. So I put Brandy in her pet taxi and went up to the vet. We got taken to a room pretty quick.)Â
At this vet visit, Brandy weighed 11.74 lbs.Â
I captioned this photo, "I'm sleeping in Brandy's room tonight because miss thang was banging at her door because she was wanting to get out again. She crawled all the way to the door.
I couldn't stop her from crawling to the door and to stop banging on the door, so I decided to join her in her room for the night.
I'm sleeping on the floor with her curled up next to me. And she is just purring away! ♡
GoodNight All. ♡ 🙂 "

I really miss her cuddles at night. She was the calm when I was stressed out. She was kind of a therapy cat to me. She always made me feel better. I just had to reach out and touch her and I calmed down, felt better, became happier, etc.Â
I captioned this photo, "Well, I took Brandy to the vet for the last time today.
I made the decision to have her put to sleep.
She just wasn't healing. She just wasn't improving.
Brandy is now in a better place. She can run free with no pain, no incisions, and no more suffering.
Brandy went so peacefully. And she was in my arms the whole time.
I love you so much Brandy!
You were the best cat any one could ever dream of having!
You are my world!
I can not wait to be with you again one day!
Fly high my love! 💜
......
I will be getting her ashes and a paw print of hers in a few days.
I still get to have my baby girl with me, even though it won't be the same."Â

Brandy actually passed away at 2:22p cst.Â
I looked at my watch right when the vet told me that Brandy had passed on. (When the vet checked to see if there was still a heartbeat.)Â
I am crying all over again reading that caption and looking at that picture.Â
I love and miss my baby girl so much! :'( 💜Â

Well, I do have some good news on Brandy.
She made a huge impact on her vet.
The vet she goes to no longer does the feline leukemia shot on indoor only cats. (They still do it on indoor/outdoor and outdoor only cats.)
The other vets at the clinic now go by this as well.Â
It used to be no matter if your cat was always indoor, indoor/outdoor, or always outdoor, they would do the feline leukemia shot. And if you had more than one indoor only cat, they would do the feline leukemia shot on each cat.Â
But now no matter how many indoor only cats you have, they won't do that shot if your cats stay indoor only.
I'm so glad Brandy's vet made this new rule because of Brandy! 💜
Too bad it came down to this, but I'm so glad that she made a huge impact! 💜Â
I know I posted this in this forum already, but I had to share it in the timeline.Â
Plus, it's an awesome story! 🙂Â
