I want you to meet My Abby Road.. She is a 8 year old Saint Bernard, I rescued her from a Puppy mill at 6 months she had never seen the out side world just the inside of a crate she was 40 pounds of timid puppy love. Her name is the story of the long road that leads to the Abby where the monks in Switzerland live.. Over the last 7 and a half years Abby has became a Therapy dog with over 2000 hours of volunteer time visiting nursing home, assisted living facilities, pre schools, doing Read to Rover at the local library and just generally meeting new people.. We also did our trainf and we are a crisis response team responding for psyilogical frist aid at disaster sites.
Abby has recentaly been diagonised with bone cancer in her lt fron leg.. I just want to thank all of you for this site it has been a lot of help trying to decide what to do to comfort my baby on her battle with this disease.
Oh I'm so glad you came here to share her story! Welcome. She is truly beautiful, and will go on to continue her pawesome therapy dog career. We are here to help however we can, so please keep us posted on how things are going OK?

Welcome to you and your Abby, from another Abby's mom. I'm sorry you had to find us here. She's a gorgeous girl. We're here if you have questions!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Oh sweet baby. I hope they get her pain under control. That should help with her appetite.
Sending pawsitive thoughts. This disease is so hard to deal with.
Hang in there,
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

I am here for my dog Layla. But at the end of June I had to put my 9 year old rott/ st. bernard down because of cancer in his back leg. They thought it was just a fracture, so they let it go. Sadly by the time they realized it was cancer it was too late. Hopefully they caught Abby's in time. Best of luck and please keep us updated and I've been there so if you need to talk about about anything!
Best of luck- Haley
I'm so sorry, I hope this new medication works. What kind of drug is "proxy"?

With a sad broken heart I have to finish Abby's story.. We came home today from work to find her laying in a pool of blood and very lethogic.. we took her to the vet and there was no hope for her.. She crossed the rainbow bridge, she is in pain no more.. Thanl you for all your support in the few weeks we spent with you.. It helped to read all the stories God Bless all of you.
Oh I am so very sorry to hear this. Abby was such a beautiful girl and I was so hoping that things would pick up for her. Cancer can be so unfair. Abby would have known how much she was loved and cared for. I hope that brings you some comfort at this difficult time.
Thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
We are so saddened to hear this news. Our hearts go out to you, it's so tough to say goodbye under such difficult circumstances. Please take comfort in knowing that her therapy dog work touched the lives of so many people, who will be forever changed by her love. What a beautiful legacy.
Run free Abby, we'll meet again someday.

Oh, no. I'm so sorry to hear this.
She is running pain free now, with the other heroes that went before her, including my own Abby girl. She will always live on in your heart.
Sending deepest condolences,
Jackie, the other Angel Abby's mom

We are so sorry to hear you lost your beautiful girl. Please take some comfort in knowing that you gave her a fantastic life. And how she gave back, with 2000+ hours of therapy work. I am in awe! If you need a place to cry, vent, or share your memories this is it--we got shoulders, sympathy, and lots of ears.
