Congrats on 3 months AND the clear chest xray - that's huge!
As for the chemo, I agree that you have to ask yourself if it's worth putting all of you through it. How many bad days are there v. good days?
I know statistically the onc's say that amp + chemo = a longer survival time, (and we did both) but honestly I've seen so many dogs here do well with no chemo. It seems like such a crap shoot. Although we did chemo with Abby and she tolerated it quite well, I don't honestly know if I'd do it again. I might try to go holistic if we were ever in this boat again.
Have you read Dr. Dressler's Dog Cancer Survival Guide ? He does a good job of laying out the traditional and the holistic options, because I know researching everything that is available out there and sorting out the hype is so confusing!
These decisions are so hard but as long as you make your decision out of your love for your dog (which of course you will), it will be the right decision.
Hang in there!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
