We were able to pick her up today and she looks great.  she is hopping around like it's natural (almost).  When we pulled into our neighborhood she sat up in the back of the car and got so excited.  When I opened the car door she hopped out of the car by herself and bolted up to the door.  She was so ready to be home.  She walked in, plopped down on her favorite pillow and hasn't moved. I know she hasn't slept good.  When was the last time you got a solid night's rest while statying in the hospital?  Also, as soon as we got in, I got the treats and gave all 3 of them some and she ate like she hadn't eaten in five days and drank water.  They hadn't been able to get her to eat anything.  She was just waiting to get home.

The best news of the day was that the pathology tests came back that were done on the tumor.  It is a low grade Hemangiopericytoma.  This means that the likelihood of it matastisizing is very low.  The nurse told us that she didn't even think that the doctor was even going to suggest chemo.  This was the best news ever.  I was afraid they were going to say it wasn't malignant which means amputation would have been senseless.  I just wanted to update everyone and again thank you all for being here!

Welcome home kiddo!  You will be so happy and glad to be home again that your recovery will go by very fast.  Isn't it nice to get home and get back in your own bed that has that familiar smell of your pawrents and your home?  I sure do know what you mean...like they say there is no bed like your own bed.  Good to hear that you may not need chemo, but if you do don't feel down or sad about it.  I had it and it was no biggie.  No side effects and when I went for my sessions they did not last long at all.  My dad stayed with me (mom was at work) and he took me home right away.  Keep on trucking and keep us posted.  Take care!

Tim & Lucky,

This is verrry exciting news!  We're very glad that it isn't an aggressive type of cancer like osteosarcoma.  Keep us posted, though.  We're here for you at any time.

Yay Lucky!!!   I'm so glad to hear how well she's doing!  And even more happy that the pathology reports came back so good!

Isn't it just amazing?  I just realized I've used that word way too much tonight as I'm catching up on all the posts 🙂  But it is!  It took Smokey a few days to be able to get most of his energy back, but when he did, watch out! 😉  It wasn't until he was off the pain meds that I noticed how great he was feeling... he hasn't felt this good since February!

The only drawback right now is that while the surgeon was doing what he does, he noticed the lymph node near his armpit had some discoloring, he removed it and sent it in for testing, and unfortunately the lymph node confirmed Smokey's cancer had spread (he has melanoma).  We had done every test possible beforehand so I'm hoping it's confined as nothing showed up before the surgery.  We go in on Tuesday for x-rays and to learn more about what everything means.  I need a few days to digest everything...

But as I digress 🙂 ... Smokey is sending Lucky lots of sloppy kisses 🙂

Smokey's Mom:  our paws are crossed in prayer that Smokey's melanoma has not spread.  You're a great Mom!  Please let us know what all the tests show.  I know this has to be a very trying time for you, right now.

And, it has been a few days since we heard from Tim & Lucky.  I hope they won't forget to update us with more good news!

Love, Blazer, Kimber & Mom (Vicki)
