Kiera is home now and doing wonderful! We got up early and drove an hour north to the animal shelter and picked her up. We stopped at Wendy's where my husband get her a hamburger. Also stopped at PetCo and got her a new collar. Then she snuggled up with our son in the back seat and slept the whole way home.
Dog introductions back at our house went surprisingly well. There was one lip curl and a sideways glance, but then lots of wagging tails (or wiggling butts from the Rotties) and licking faces. She just had to make sure these behemoths weren't going to eat her. After everyone got to know each other in the front yard, Kiera came inside, sniffed around a little and found the dog blankets in the kitchen and promptly laid down and took a long nap. And she's pretty much been sleeping all day, it's hard to get a good night's rest at the shelter with all the barking. She ate dinner and used the potty outside several times. She doesn't seem to have any leash training or basic commands (other than sit) but is extremely kind and curteous nonetheless.
She has no trouble getting in and out of the car or with the hardwood floors or the carpeted stairs. She's just a tiny little bundle of muscles with a whip tail that I'm pretty sure is made out of steel cable. Even though she's sleeping, her tail starts going as soon as you walk by or look at her.
It's so wonderful, we feel so fortunate to have her here and to give her a great home with awesome friends. Too much excitement today to get pics but I promise I'll post some tomorrow.
Thanks again everyone and I'll keep you updated.
Andy

Beautiful dog with lovely markings. I can't wait to see 'at home' pics since they always look even better when they are loved! She needs a bright pink bow!
I'm so happy for you and if your transistion went that well on the first time, you may have it super easy!
TIP: Immediately walking all dogs together gives them a sense of being a pack.
