A quick update on Johnnie, six-months post amp and two months post-chemo, still going strong. Had some so-so days last week because it got VERY hot, in the upper 90's F. This week has been milder, and the weekend was just gorgeous! We got to enjoy the pool and the sun.
Took some nice pictures of Johnnie and of his 4-pawed sister Pepa. Hope the links work.
After swimming and being towel-dried, Johnnie decided to "chill out" a bit, and also pick on 2-legged sis Juliana. He just loves to take our hats!
Will try to anticipate the checkup with the onco, which should happen the first week of January (3-month post-chemo), just a respiratory checkup and blood work, in order to be able to relax and enjoy the Christmas-New Year break.

Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Hello to all the tripawd family.
An update on Johnnie, after his 3-month post-chemo checkup, 7 1/2 months post-amp: lung X-Ray all clear, abdominal ultrasound totally normal, blood exams ok. His white blood count is quite high, red blood count is borderline. The vet thought everything was ok.
Only one minor issue: a small bump close to the amp site, she first thought it was a fatty bump (lipoma) but was in fact a lymph node. The vet took material and sent it to the lab, but the first view in the microscope she thought was nothing to worry about - should have the lab results by Wednesday. Johnnie is maintaining a stable weight - 40.5kg ( almost 100 lbs ) which for him is quite slim. He is a large boy !
Here's a recent picture - after a swim, January 2015.

We are keeping the same supplements - six K-9 Immunity chews and six Apocaps a day. Am going to review the supplements to see if I can get an increase in the red blood count next time. I know the Apocaps interferes with iron absorption from the food, have to look into that.
Here at home, we are all very grateful to have him in good health and good spirit. The swimming is doing him good - he prefers it to hopping-walking around, especially in this very, very hot summer.
