It's been so long since we were last here. We celebrated his 2-year in Dec and we've made it to 25 and 26 month ampuversaries. Yesterday AM Jackson ate bfast just as normal, but on his walk, halfway through, he refused to move. I jokingly thought he was sick of ice, snow, and winter! I got him inside and he didn't want his ritual pig ear, nor banana with my lunch. He only drank. He was lethargic, apathetic, and when moving seemed very unsteady. We withheld dinner, which wasn't an issue since all he could stomach was half a sweet potato skin after my dinner. We went to bed all thinking he's got an upset tummy. He drank more water during the night and this AM doesn't want bfast. When I was able to get him outside yesterday, he'd walk 10ft, maybe pee, and then lay down in the snow. His temp was normal last night. I've poked and felt all over hoping to elicit some pain response, but nothing. So the vet opens at 7am and we'll be there. Maybe kidney issues? A stone? Who knows! So anyway...please keep us in your thoughts today and I'll update when/if I can. I hope this is nothing or is something that'll clear up. It came on SO suddenly. Jackson isn't well and we gotta find out why...
Hugs,
Katy & Jackson
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
Keep us updated. Thinking of you today! Lori, Ty and the gang
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
He's been admitted and hooked up to fluids and they'll do xrays and bloodwork. I'm hoping it's constipation. His temp was normal still, heatbeat good, lungs steady, no pain upon palpation. He just doesn't want to move. They brought a stretcher to the car for him, which was terribly hard to see, but thank goodness for his harness! I had it in storage for the day we'd need it. Three cheers for preparation! Now now the waiting game continues....

He's been there now for about 2.5 hours and had blood taken, xrays, and fluids. He ate a little! His WBC is elevated and platelets down. He's got some bacteria in his urine, too. Between those, he's now on IV antibiotics. His xrays looked good with "no obvious mets in the lungs". I'm not celebrating that yet, as the radiologist will be conferred over lunch, so I'll know more about that. Xrays of his abdomen were good, too, except for his poop-filled colon. We all hope that with more fluids, he'll poop and feel better. The antibiotics will hopefully address his malaise. There's talk that he'll camp out there tonight, which stinks, but if that keeps him jacked up on fluids and meds, I'm on board.
I'll get another report this afternoon after more time has progressed and all vets have viewed his xrays.
I'm feeling a little better and relived that he's there.

We'll be thinking of both of you. It sounds like Jackson is in good hands. Waiting to hear about the poopy dance!
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Katy,
Thinking of you and your sweet Jackson today.....hopefully he will be on his way home to you soon, and have some meds to get him past this bump in the road. It sounds like mostly good news as far as his tests go, so that is very good to hear. Sending prayers your way.
Waiting patiently for an update,
Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly, and new crew
Katy, this sounds like the easiest thing to treat and the best kind of "veterinary episode" people on this forum can have. Jackson is in great hands and has the best advocate. Keep everyone informed, here and on FB, please.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Just saw this, things sound a little better. Here's hoping for constipation...
Sending strong, positive thoughts for the Jack-man.

Hugs and healing thoughts your way.... I hope it is just an extreme case of constipation.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Ohhhh glad to hear he's perked up, I totally freaked out when I started reading. You have all the pawsitivity in the community thinking of you and our amazing hero! That will totally help. I hope he doesn't have to stay the night. Keep us posted OK?
WE LOVE YOU JACKSON!!!
