I really can't believe I'm posting this and I was going to wait until we got him home but I'm just too giddy (Sally the nervousness has turned to complete excitement now hehe). Just to provide some history, I have wanted a Boston Terrier for a long time and I told my family way back that if I ever saw a 3 legged Boston that we would be in trouble. So, a couple of weekends ago, Eric (not seriously) mentioned that Tanner needed a friend. It took me about 1.5 seconds to pull Petfinders up and to my complete shock on the very first page was a tripawd Boston at a rescue around the corner from my house (!!!) Long story short, we met him, took Tanner to meet him, and we are bringing him home Saturday!! He is 2-4 years old, 17 lbs, and the product of either a terrible puppy mill or backyard breeder. His tail is docked from what appears an at home rubber band job. His teeth are really jacked up, his eyes a bit cloudy (luckily the vet said the lens look fine) and he had a fixable injury to his leg but some jackass tied a rubber band around it rendering it completely useless. He was found wandering with the band wrapped around his poor leg. He had the amputation about 3 weeks ago and just got his staples out today. He hadn't been using the leg for lord only knows how long so he is getting around great on 3. He's even learned to stand on his two hind legs. He does have some behavioral issues that are going to take some work (he was just neutered and likes to spread his love around to everything and everyone if you get my drift way-confused) and he definitely needs basic obedience training. His rescuer said that what he lacks in breed quality he makes up for in personality and he definitely has quite the personality! I will have more pics this weekend when he comes home but this is from his adoption page. We decided he needed a manly dog name, so without further adieu I introduce to all of you, ROSCOE:

Oh Elizabeth, he is simply adorable!! I am not a huge fan of smaller dogs for myself, ( I do love ALL dogs, really though) but these little Bostons are the first on my list to own one day...... My neighbor friend got a little female Boston a year ago, when her Rottie died from cancer not long after my Polly died, and I was little Abby's day care mom till she was about 9-10 months old....how I grew to love this little girl, but I have loved Bostons for most of my life, they are great little dogs!!

I am so glad you will give this poor little guy a home he deserves, with so much love and endless fun....after everything he has been through, he will be so happy with you and Tanner. And his name Roscoe seems to fit him! He will be well behaved in no time, these pups are very intelligent.

Can't wait to see more pics and videos!!

OMG .... I needed some smiles today and boy oh boy did I get them!!! ADORABLE!!! You are a saint - truly! Two tripawds! I remember you posted one time that your boyfriend said "it's ok to have a dog w/4 legs, you know that right".. :-) BUT BLESS your heart for rescuing these pups!!!

Oh how I wish JL and I were coming out to DC. We will promise to make the next one... GIVE us lots of advance notice so we  can find cheap flights ...:-) And we'll do some east coast sight-seeing.

Congrats Elizabeth. I am SO happy for you. They are going to have the best time together!!! Bostons are great little pups... I see them at the dog park. So much fun!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

That's right Alison...I forgot about Eric's brilliantly funny comment avout it being okay to have a four-legged dog!! That was sooo funny!

And now.....Elisabeth has two tripawds! Its okay Eric. I can in Elizabeth's mind, add all the legs together and they have six. So I guess that equated to one and a half four leggers! clown

He is precious!  We had bostons when I was a young child.  They are very smart, would do anything a 4 year old asked.  So they must be easy to train.

Thank you so much for adopting.  My favorite breed is Adopted!

Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul.  Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Haha! Alison, Eric knows I have a soft spot for the perfectly imperfect (we are a household of misfits lol). When Roscoe jumped on him and tried to lick him to death he was sold!

Bonnie, there is just something really adorable about these guys...I think its that Boston smile!

Shanna - I agree, adopted is the best breed! There are so many pups in rescue that I just could never buy one.

It makes me feel better to hear you guys say they are very trainable. Jake and Tanner were so easy that I'm afraid this little guy will give me a run for my money. They said he only had one accident when he first went into rescue and he does a good job listening to his rescuer when she gets him focused. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
