My husband and I work from home.  Today I was at the computer in the office when I heard a horrid anguished dog's cry. I ran to the living room to find Buddy, thinking ... I don't know what.  I've only heard similar sounds from the victim's of coyotes kill.  I found my dear dog asleep and shrieking.  I bent down put my hand gently on his shoulder and woke him.  He jumped up looked around, looked into my eyes, smiled, licked my face and began to prance about. As he hopped around,  I just couldn't help cry.

I want to spend the rest of my time with Buddy, which I hope will turn into many years, making up for the time he was caught in that trap in Kentucky.

What a scary sound for you and frightful time for Buddy!

But....how wonderful that the touch of your hand and the sight of your face relieved all of the terror that Buddy was feeling!

You are already making up for the time Buddy spent in the trap.....each precious moment with you takes away from all the terror he felt then!

Enjoy your wonderful boy

I am sorry that your precious Buddy was having a nightmare.  I do believe dogs & kitties can have them.  I am so glad that your touch and you being there brought him joy.  Thank you for rescuing him.

Hugs

Hey Buddy I'm real sorry, I know those memories are scary. I have them too sometimes but they don't happen so much anymore.  Hang in there!

How scary and heartbreaking!
I can relate a little- my adopted quad pug Obie, who I adopted at 4 years old, was treated very badly by his original owner. He has crying dreams sometimes, it tears by heart out! The bright side is that they have become less and less frequent as his bad memories are replaced by the good things in his new life. As Buddy spends more time with you and learns that he is safe those painful memories will fade.

Or maybe he was dreaming about the trapper/killer being caught in the cruel and barbaric trap and was shrieking with glee!clap

I am soooooo glad Buddy "picked" you for his forever home.

Yeah, unfortunately many dogs and cats and wildlife die horrific painful lingering deaths because of "trapping" animals for humans' fur coats. They will even chew their own legs off to escape the suffering.

No matter what Buddy has his buddy by his side now a d he knows he is lloved and safe! This is a journey where an unbreakable bond has already been formed and I look forward to many more hapy stories AND photos! His avatar picture is adorable and I can't wait to see more!

Hugs to you two "best buddies"!

Oh, poor Buddy......I'm so sorry he had that horrible experience of an awful trap. They are disgusting and wish they didn't exist. So very happy he has a great loving home, and I know all your love will help ease the terrible memory of what happened to him. Bonnie & Polly
