i cried thru your whole story what a beautiful tribute to your boy.......yes you did everything and than some, breaks your heart, i find it interesting that Miller and my Chance share the same birthday same year too....my Chance {my heart dog} was diagnosed with osteosarcoma June 1, 2012,,,,she was involved in a clinical trial at the U OF I {illinois} however, last month by accident they found another mass this one on her kidney, well it turns out to be a whole nother cancer, how can you have 2 cancers...not fair...since they are treating her with oral chemo she has been disqualified from the trial.....thank you for sharing Miller's story, it's beautiful as i'm sure he was......Linda, Chance's mom
What a gorgeous boy. His sweet soul shines in those pictures. You were so lucky to find each other.
I know how hard it is to lose such a special family member. Thanks for sharing his story. I'm sure it will help others down the road.
Hang in there,
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Miller's story is simply inspawrational, thank you so much for sharing the details of his incredible battle against cancer.
Although he's an angel dog now, he will continue to give hope to so many people when the get the bad news about osteosarcoma, or any cancer for that matter. You and Miller beat the odds for a long, long time, and lived life to the fullest right up to the end. What an amazing team you were, and always will be in spirit.
I'm so glad you wrote the post, thanks.

Spirit Chili Dawg's pack
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
He was so handsome! And what a smile. I'd miss that face and fur, too. My heart aches terribly for you and the tears down my cheek continue to reinforce the special love we have for our pets (or even pets of friends!). You did your best and he knows that. What a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing.
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
First off - I am so so sorry for the loss of Porthos ... it just is not fair.. and Secondly... thank you so much for all the love, care, and support that the people in this forum has given to me and Miller.. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him.. he was so special to me.. Thank you all for your kind words!
