Love Ellie!
You've actually touched on a sensitive subject with this topic. One which everyone on this site can relate to, which clearly needs to be addressed in more detail. Such discussion about personal finance and pleas for help have caused us to lose members in the past. And we were just discussing what to do about this when we received this anonymous email from a Tripawds member:
... I'm certain every Tripawds member can empathize and relate to her struggle, but I don't feel this is appropriate. There are members, and I'm one of them who have discretely helped others out – and I feel the gesture should remain private...
One of the reasons I even considered joining [Tripawds] was because of the absence of this type of solicitation. If anyone wants to start comparing tripawd debt, I'm confident I lead the pack by by tens of thousands of dollars. None of us chose the path that brought us to Tripawds, and we all scramble to finance it.
With that said, as much as we empathize with your situation and appreciate your support and participation here at Tripawds, we respectfully ask that you refrain from solicitation for financial support in these forums or on Ellie's blog. For now, please feel free to keep this sort of discussion to Facebook. A formal promotional policy is in the works for Tripawds.com, and whether we need to implement a similar policy for the Tripawds Fan Page is to be determined.
Thank you for your understanding.

Helping our beloved pets is a financial burden and we totally understand why you would want/need help. So, please don't take it the wrong way. It is just on the internet, we have no way of determining who is who and is each story real or not. Not that yours isn't a real story!
Plus, so many here have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to help their pet and are financially strapped also.
The reason it's a sensitive subject is because our community is a place to feel comfortable, supported, loved and amongst friends. Getting hit up for money to help strangers is a little uncomfortable.
We want you to feel supported, loved and amongst friends also! So, l hope you understand and will join us in our loving community!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I want to wish you and Ellie well. Many of us have faced (or currently face) the challenge of financing quality care. I, too, hope you will stick around and reap the benefits of belonging to such a wonderful community. We give what is more valuable than money, we offer time, love, support and friendship.

Thanks! I wasn't trying to hit up anyone, no one even had to reply, im just trying to get it out there in case there is someone who can donate a little (not meaning any of you, because you're all in the same situation) but just por chance of a referral or something. and yes this is a real story, I don't know how else to prove it besides the pictures, and maybe faxing the vet bills? Thanks for your support!
