Oh, Peanut, you are beautiful. Your eyes look a little woozy though. We'll be glad when you get the drugs out of your system. I bet your life will be better then too.
Keep on healing!

Melanie - way to go kiddo! Lemonade is so MUCH better than lemons. Have that good cry - you need it if you haven't already done it. It's very therapeutic and you have been through A LOT and stayed so strong and positive - the emotions of it all have to come out somehow and we don't want you getting sick 😉 Peanut is ADORABLE and we just love the name.
Marguerite - Zeus was 10 and 80 pounds when we amputated - almost identical to Jake. He lived 17 months after amputation HAPPY, RUNNING AND PLAYING, LOVING LIFE and even in the end it wasn't the damn cancer that took him - it was renal failure. He was cancer free. We are so glad that you went for it - we are rooting for you Jake! Rest up pal and give mom an occasional lick and tail wag so she knows you're A-OK.
Lots of love and prayers ~

Welcome Peanut and Melanie and family!
I've got to say what a great attitude you have!!! It will absolutely carry you a long way! I love the idea of the pups who crossed the rainbow bridge when Peanut was young watching out for him. Don't forget, they are watching out for you too!!!
The first two weeks are hard, and for most, it gets better, but realize you'll often be taking 2 steps forward and one back. Get some good movies for your time home with him, maybe even a silly chick-flick tear-jerker that'll give you that good cry you need.
Good luck with everything and let us know if you need anything!!!
Hi Melanie & Peanut!
we wish you a good recovery!
Take it slow so that you don't get too sore on your other legs and paws.
Hugs from another biggie!
