Bodie was originally adopted by my Mom at, we think, aproximately 18 months. He was very, very loved by her, as she was by him. When my Mom crossed over to the other side of life twelve years ago, I had the privilege of being able to bring Bodie and Chrissie and Jingles home with me. When we wrote Mom's little memorium thing in the paper...we put survived by her three childrean AND her three dogs who would continie to be loved by her daughter (that "be me") Chrissie and Jngles (adoptees also) left to be with Mom during the first year.

Yes, he's a for legger, but he's always been cheering for all tripawds! Bodie went to every single vet visit of Happy Hannah's...and peed proudly on any corner he could find when no ne was looking) and Happy Hannah went on every vet appt. of his. They...we...were inseparable.

And yes, to have Bodie live a FULL life for almost sixteen years s a gift beyond words! What we all wouldn't give for our tripawds, right?

Karen/Spirit Pug Maggie posted recently..."memories are for comfort..but they don't take away the pain". The fact that I had Bodie in my life for those wo derful, wonderful years, brings me incredible comfort...but it doesn't take away the pain of loss. Ive slept two nights without him beside me and have been sitting in my chair with way too much room now because he's not beside me.

Anyway, I hope you all don't mind me paying tribute here. And Mom, I hope with all my heart I did everything these last few weeks as you would have. He stayed "true to who he is" until the last week or so and his body just got too weak for him to be "Bodie". His wag became weaker and his gait became wobbly. He let me kow Mom. And I asked him to let me know....and with more signs, he let me know. I was of course with him surrounding him with my love as I released him from my arms back into yours. One of his last little gentle breaths had a little perk to it....-I think that's when he saw yousmiley

I tha k yoj for allowing me to honor my Bodie! A "little" guy with "big dog syndrome" and a HUGE heart!

These videos are all recent....so ou can tell he realy was living life to the fullest!
Yeah, he got steak too for the ampuvesary celebrations
Another one is him checking out the "squirrel's tree" every orning.
Then fussing at a cat for goingup "his" ramp...he loved bouncing up Haph Hannah's ramp! Always proud!
Another is him telling me to let him in...its time to eat!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh Salt, I'm so very sorry for your loss.  What a beautiful cute little face that Bodie has!  Almost 16 years is certainly a gift, but I know from experience it doesn't make it hurt any less.  You paid tribute to your mom in the most beautiful way by making sure her baby was looked after and loved to the fullest.  I am sure she looks down on you with a huge smile on her face and is beeming with pride.  She is now reunited with her Bodie and he is telling her all about his time with you, Happy Hannah and all of your adventures.

He sure looks like he was a sweet soul with a big personality.  I won't hold it against him that he got a little angry with that kitty ;) I can just tell by these videos that he was truly loved and loved back in a big way.

Big hugs to you Salt,

Erica & Jill

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Oh Sally..  what a gift!!!  What a treasure to have his love loaned to you by your mom, and for you to give it back to her in the end.  I know that he saw her.... that little perk in his breath is when he spotted your mom.. crouched down.. holding her arms out waiting for him to run and jump into them.. licking her face and fiercly wagging his tail.  I know it!

Run free and fast little man... you deserve it!

Thank you for sharing the videos...  I chuckled at the nerve of those cats running up the ramp ahead of him!!!  geesh!!!

Hugs to you.. and a big hug for Hannah... he was always there with her.. I am sure she will feel his passing as well.. it's hard when they get used to one another and then one is gone...

Christine.... with Franklin in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Ohhhh Sally, I'm so sorry for your loss, I know the connection he had to your Mom had to make it extremely heartbreaking to say goodbye. What a little spitfire he was, I love the videos you shared, thank you. It really does show that he had SO much spark left up until the very end, I see how it runs in your family!

How beautiful to know that he was sharing every ounce of his happiness and gifts with the universe until his very last breath. I can only hope and do my best to be that spunky and joyous when I'm very old. He is a role model for all of us (not that you need any encouragement to share love, you are love defined!).

Here are the photos you shared with me, I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do. What a sweetie. I'm sure he and your Mom are overjoyed with their reunion.

Oh. Sally, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Somehow this must mean that your Mom wanted to have him for her special Christmas present this year. We'll be thinking of you.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Oh, Sally...I am so sorry. It is doubly hard, I am sure, as he was a tie to your mom for you, as well. You and hannah are in our thoughts <3

Sally, I'm so sorry about Bodie. He looked like the sweetest little old man. I'm sure your mother couldn't be prouder of  how you took care of Bodie and all her dogs. Any dog or cat with you thinks they went to pet nirvana. Eating off of fine china and chasing cats, what a life!! Kiss Miss Hannah and it will help heal your heart.

Sally,

I am so sorry that you lost Bodie.  He is apart of this family just as you & Hannah are.  I am sure this loss was very hard as he was a tie to your mom.  Your mom couldn't be more proud of what you have done for Bodie and I am sure she was there to help him and great him at his crossing.  Thinking of you & Hannah as this will affect her too.  Hugs

Darling Sally

You are such a beautiful and caring person and bodie was in a wonderful loving place with you (and your Mom before you). What a lovely tribute to a special bond. It is never easy to say goodbye to a loved pet, but as you and I have been talking about this very thing recently, it is comforting to know that the sacred agreement can never ever be broken. And lucky for bodie, because he has two of those. An abundance of love for this little guy.

Happy Hannah is going to be sad to lose her buddy, so you and Hannah will take care of each other and have lots of hugs and snuggles.

I have never met you Sally, and I am a new member to the tripawds family, but it is clear to me from a very short time knowing you that you are special and beautiful person. You support everyone on here and we all appreciate you so much.

Salute to bodie and love to you and the rest of your animal tribe!

love and light Sal

Sally,

Whether or not he was able to have a long wonderful life, it still leaves an emptiness in yours.  I am very sorry for your loss.  I like the idea that he is back with your Mom.  Sweet pup.  Loved the videos and the pics.  I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Sally, what a lucky boy Bodie was to have both you and your Mom in his life.  Bodie's was definitely a life lived well.  I'm sorry for your loss.  Keeping you in my thoughts tonight.
