Oh great! You did it! Congratulations Techie! 😉

Sorry to hear about the seroma but yep, a warm compress should help. Rarely do they need to be drained in the clinic.

We love AMC too! Every member who has worked with their team has had nothing but good things to say. Be sure to put a shout out to AMC in the Veterinary Specialists Referral Topic in our Forums so other can know what a great clinic they are.

Done!  Shouted out Griffin's surgeon, too!  And I'll go back and update with information about his oncology and rehab appointments.  icon_lol

Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com

Griffin was sporting his new Ruffwear harness and braving pretty strong winds today!

OH GRIFFIN!!  YOU KMOW HOW TO MELT HEARTS SWEET BOY!!  And you wear that harness so well.  It is DEFINITELY your color!!!

AND you have the sweetest look in your eyes when you "ppse" for the camera.

I'm so impressed with how smooth your gait is.  And you seem to know how to keep your pace "slow" so you don't  tire after the first three steps!

Griffin looks amazing in his new harness (I have ordered the same one in grey few days ago...can't wait to receive it!)

I am happy he is doing so well. He's an inspiration for Arktik 🙂

I love to see the photos and videos.

Today marks Griffin's 9th day post surgery.  He has been growing stronger each day, but today I found myself missing the 2 mile walks along the Hudson River that we used to take daily.  So this afternoon I loaded Griffin into the wagon and pulled him to the park to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.  He walked for quite a bit once we were there, but made no complaints when I gave him a lift back home!

We then had fun visiting (while the humans remained socially distant!) with neighbors in our hallway and Griffin decided that it was time to play fetch!  I only caught a snippet on video, but my heart is so full seeing him enjoying his favorite pastime again! sp_hearticon2

Griffin's sweet ride.  That's the George Washington Bridge in the background!

Stronger and better balanced each day!

Still a bit windy today, but what a gorgeous view!

Running and playing fetch for the first time after surgery!

Thanks, Sally!  I have marveled at how well Griffin was recovering, but watching him play fetch today really did make my heart explode.  That is his real sparkle and to see him moving so quickly and easily was amazing!  I sent the video to his vet to "tell" on myself since I know that Griffin probably shouldn't be exerting himself this much so soon.  He wrote back that he normally would say no to playing fetch, but that Griffin is doing beautifully so to let him have fun.  I do hope that Griffin inspires others just like he inspires me each day!

Shhhh.......sometimes being a naughty boy is really being a good boy!I  I really like your Vet. Clearly he knows Griffin and clearly he knows everything he is doing is under your watchful eye.  Shhhh..... I'm sure it made him happy to see Griffin playing fetch too!

I adore Dr. Spector!  He has been so compassionate and caring throughout this process, emailing every day since Griffin came home.  What surgeon does that?  And you are right - he loves the videos I send.  I hope Griffin is inspiring him, too!

Today is day 10 post-op for Griffin.  His whole life, Griffin's favorite things to do have been playing fetch and swimming.  For weeks before his surgery he was unable to play fetch because of the pain.  Today, Griffin played fetch pain-free and I don't think I have stopped smiling yet!  After his diagnosis, I remember thinking that Griffin's life would be diminished with amputation, that he would be unable to enjoy things the way he did when he had 4 limbs.  I was so wrong!  Watching Griffin today, it was so clear that he is simply living in the moment and adjusting to life on 3 limbs superbly.  I am so proud of my boy!

Oh the look of pure joy on both your faces is just priceless! Just getting caught up on the adorable videos and WOW! smiley_clapsmiley4

It makes us so hoppy to see both of you finding your new normal and enjoying life. I can feel the pawsitivity from here and am super proud of you both. Griffin is a true inspawration and your attitude is BOSS! 🙂 NYC really needs this kind of love in the air right now (as does the rest of the world!) and you two are making it happen!

Have you had a chance to talk to AMC about rehab therapy for him? I can't recall if you did or not. Keep in mind the Tripawds Foundation may pay for your first rehab visit so do take advantage of the program.
