All the best to Flash and his surgery. We're thinking of you today. It's so worth it - the pain in his face (and leg) will be gone.
Honey had her surgery (front left) 4 weeks ago today and she's back to being the annoying beggar she was before – we couldn't be happier!!
Dx Osteosarcoma 3/31/10.  Amputation 7/21/10. Honey put up a valiant fight and lost her battle 9/22/10. Missing her and treasuring 9 years with our Honeygurl.
Awww look at Honey! She's cute!

Just wanted to check in and see how the surgery went!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Hey everyone
Flash's surgery went well, he's sooooo drugged up, but still tried to get up when he heard us come in. He's going to be boarded at the vet's for a couple days as we can't get time off work, and it's better for them to keep an eye on him anyway. The vet wants us to bring Comet up for a visit tomorrow, said it would be good for Flash  It's hard to see poor Flasher, I had a bit of a boohoo but am gonna try my hardest to be strong for the little guy.
So, the big hurdle is over, now on to the difficult recovery period. We'll be doing a lot of reading, and probably asking a lot of questions! lol
Till then, take care, and thanks for the well-wishes

Pawesome news! Yeaaaay!
Lucky Flash gets to be catered to for a few days, that's really smart of you guys. Boohooing is fine as long as he doesn't see you doing it...stay strong, he'll need ya.

So happy to hear Flach is doing well. I think I stopped the boohooing when I got Troubs home and saw how determined she was to get back to her live.

Yay! I'm so happy to hear that Flash made it through his surgery with flying colors and is recovering well. I'll bet you can't wait to bring him home... Don't worry... Friday is just around the corner!!!!
Sending you all a big hug!!!

Love Never Ends
Yea for Flash!! Great news that his surgery went well! It's good that he's in the hospital for a couple of days - for both of you. We kept Mackenzie in the hospital for 3 nights - it was well worth it as it can be stressful not knowing if you're doing all the right things. And about that recovery period - yes, it can get very difficult at times so my advice is to take it one day at a time and try not to get too anxious if anything seems out of the ordinary (I speak from experience - I wish I had known then what I know now.) Keep us posted on how Flash is doing. We'll be keeping our paws crossed that everything continues to go well!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
YAY to the great news on Flash's surgery!! Take some time over the next couple of days to get some much needed rest  . It's hard not to succumb to the boo-hooing every now and then but over time you get better at hiding it, and then eventually you realize that your pooch is coping so well you forget to boo-hoo.
Laura and Tai Dog
Tai – 9 yr old lab. Diagnosed Osteosarcoma Dec 18/09. Front right leg amputated Dec 21/09. Started chemo Jan 7/10. Lung mets discovered Sept 16/10. Valiant to the end on Oct 26/10 when cancer reappeared in a leg and we made the decision to set her free. Forever in my heart where not even cancer can take her from me.
Terrific news! Your baby boy will be home soon and then you can spoil him! Comet says to Comet - be happy when you see Flash!

Yay! I've been checking back in for the results. Based on other stories, I think Ajax had a pretty easy recovery, but I still relied on all the good advice from folks on this site for the first 3 weeks. What I have found is that I repeatedly think "hooray, this is my old Ajax back" and then the next day he is even better! Don't worry too much.  It has been one month today exactly since Ajax's surgery and he is happy happy happy.
WOW!!! GREAT news, Flash came home today, and he's doing amazing! I got a call at work this morning (less than 24 hours after his surgery), and it was the vet.. I thought "oh no'.. then he proceeded to tell me that he just had Flash out for a pee, and he was running all over the place, even went down the 4 stairs to get outside!! Well, of course I had to take an early lunch and get my behind down there! Went back after work and we picked him up. Simply incredible!
We did try the webmaster on him though, but we'll have to wait until his wound has healed, the strap goes right over it.. but he's doing fine without it, we'll wait to tackle the bigger set of stairs to get down to the rec room.
anyways, wanted to pass it along.. working on figuring out how to post a video now, should be up soon 🙂
SOOOO hoppy with the way this turned out!!!
Terryl, Ian, Comet and Flash
