Well, the day has come. Flash goes in tomorrow morning for amputation of his front left leg, we're so glad we found this site. I know now that he will at least be doing a lot better than we will be 🙁
All I have to think about is that he'll be in less pain than he is now, and that is a blessing.
Send good thoughts our way, and be ready to say hello to the newest Tripawd
Terryl, Ian, Flash and Comet
Flash we are sending good thoughts for you for tomorrow. I pray that your recovery will be speedy and uneventful. Keep us updated with how everything goes tomorrow. It will be a blessing when you wake up and that horrible pain will be gone. My prayers are with you.

Chloe (my tripawd) and I will be sending good thoughts out to you! Good Luck!!
-Chloe's mom
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
We send our best wishes, too!
Flash is already a tripawd, tomorrow it just becomes official!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Flash, about 7 weeks ago I was right where your pawrents are. The first two weeks, as you've heard over and over, are rough......now I look at my beautiful golden girl and watch her run and play, raise up like a horse pawing at the air....she's full of life and she doesn't hurt. And soon your pain will end too!
P.S. Shelby said to tell you she lost a front leg too.....she's cheering you on!
Wishing a smooth surgery & a fast recovery..
A couple helpful things are to raise the water bowls, put runners over wood/tle floors, make a med chart, sleep on floor forst week to keep an eye on Flash & ask for Gabapentin! A huge help with phantom pains & just a good pain meds all the way around.
Best to you both!

Pawsitive thoughts headed your way! Don't worry, you will be up and around and feeling like your old self in, well....in a Flash (can't help myself) Yeah, the first couple of weeks can be tough, but it's worth it, and probably harder for your pawrents than it will be for you. Good luck and get better soon (I'm looking for a good excuse to get some extra cookies!)
Sloppy kisses and hugs from Mom,
Sadie and Sadie's mom
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Love Never Ends
We wish you all the best for Flash's surgery today. We hope he has a smooth and speedy recovery. And before you know it, Flash will be back to his normal self and won't even know that he's missing a leg - neither will you! Good luck with everything! Sending you lots of healing and pawsitive thoughts your way.
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
