Hi Friends!
This morning I woke up feeling sad and happy at the same time.... Sad because it's the first year of not having my grandmother with us on her birthday, as she passed away in October last year. We miss her very much...
Glad, because my brave boy Dee is celebrating his one year ampuversary today. (After the doctors gave him 3 - 5 months to live!) I can still remember when I visited this website for the first time, shared my fears and worries with you and only received love and compassion from your side... You made this rollercoaster ride worthwile. You supported me when I was down and you shared my joy when I was happy about the small things - Dee walking on his own, Dee eating his new special meal, stitches coming out, first visit to the beach after amputation, etc, etc....
Dee has shown me true strength, determination and a fighting spirit that I can only dream off. He has already proven to be a true warrior.... He is my pride & joy and I love him to bits....
I am looking forward to a pawsitive ongoing friendship with you here on tripawds. Thanks for being here...
(Dee will get a special treat tonight - cake with cream - his favourite!!)
Lots of love and licks!!

What wonderful news to hear! It sounds like you have a great celebration day planned. Thank you for sharing the story of your journey with him, he is lucky to have a good Mom!
Enjoy the day with your boy, Gineej & Paris
Grateful for every moment we had with Paris…..no regrets!
Honoring her life by opening our hearts & home to Addy!
Wow, it's hard to believe it's been an entire year already. We are SO hoppy for you and Dee, many congratulations on reaching such a huge milestone. Wonderful!!!!
When a pawrent first hears the cancer diagnosis, it's so hard to picture life one month later, much less one year later. Making it through one day at a time seems so impossible. But if pawrents can stay focused on having a good quality of life, instead of marking the days off a calendar, living with cancer seems much less frightening. All we need to do is remember that dogs don't count, and statistics are meaningless; it's all about how you make the most of each day. Dee has definitely taught you, and all of us here, this lesson and many more.
Thank you for sharing this with us. We hope you have a fantastic celebration, may there be many, many more!

Diane, it's wonderful to hear from you. Wow, it was a year ago when Abbey had hers? I can't believe it's been that long. What a beautiful girl.
A special day indeed.
