Happy Birthday to Daisy!
Since she has problems riding in the car, we decided to walk her over to a junior high school that's a couple of blocks away.
We started with her on her leash while walking on the track that surrounds the soccer field. So many new smells and textures for her to experience. Since the track is in an enclosed area, we took her leash off. It took her awhile to feel confident enough to walk a short distance away from us. We called her and she came right back to us! For the next three laps around the track, she was truly enjoying her newfound freedom!
Just before we finished the walk, she wondered further away. We called her and this is when she exhibited a behavior her older, big sister, Boss'em Blossom uses, Blossom Time. Daisy didn't come when we called her, she looked around and decided she would come when she was ready. As Cindi opened her birthday present, a big bunch Vanilla Ice cream, she decided she was ready. Daisy loved her ice cream!
On the walk back home, she was a happy girl. No Dusty, Rosy or Blossom, just her and her peeps. It was a good time for all!
Had me chuckling over this description of her "temporary escape plan". BTW love all the nick names. 😎
