Oh my gosh we looooove Shiloh Shepherds! Such fluffballs and so sweet.

We have a special fondness for the breed because it was two Shilos who taught Jerry how to swim as a young dog. We were hiking in the mountains when we came upon a lake. Jerry did not like water up until that point, until he saw two Shilos swimming and having a ball. That was the moment when it clicked with him, "Hey swimming can be fun!" and he went into the water after his new buddies. It was adorable!

I have a feeling my computer screen is going to be all full of smooches when you start sharing photos of your new furballs!

Thank you. I try everything I can with him. I just hope whatever time we have left together is good.

Aww. Go Jerry. I sure hope I get them, and can share photos. I hope mine will be swimmers. Riot wasn't much of a swimmer as he grew up, and Czar just floats like a teabag. I'll probably create a page for them, so I don't spam my non dog friends too much.

Yes!! I have seen them before but I just always thought it was a GSD with different markings. They are really beautiful! Aww geez... I am getting excited for you now sp_hearticon2

Nothing like that wonderful smell of puppy breath, I wish it never went away. Bo hadn't quite outgrown puppy breath when we adopted him but he did not have it for long. I know.. silly things that you fall in love with icon_lol

Yes. Puppy breath. I'm partial to puppy coat. They're never that soft again.

Still no word on the puppy situation. I've decided that if they say no, I'll just do half days at work, and get a sitter for the other half. I have 3 weeks of vacation time. If I do that, I can spend a full week at home with them, then spread the rest out until they can go to regular daycare at 4 months.

I dropped Czar off for his second chemo. He was happy to see everyone, but I had to walk him back as he wasn't thrilled with being left. I hope this round goes well. We get recheck xrays at the next round in three weeks.

I'm glad he likes people. Even in places where bad things have happened.

If all goes well, we pick them up March 15, and get home on the 16th.

Czar was supposed to be done at 1. Poor guy. I wish I could miss work to stay there. That's a faster appointment, but still never less than 3 hours. They said 3 now, but I don't believe them, as he "was about to start his infusion", but hadn't yet. Someone else is picking him up, so they're in a holding pattern until I call them. If it's much longer, he's going to have to stay until I leave work. I hate cancer. It's taken so much from my family.

Bummer!

I'm  sure he's  getting lots of attention though.   I mean, he's an adorable tripawd wo eceryone eill ve fawning all over him.  It doesn't  help much, but I'm  sure it's  harder on you than him.

Let us know when he gets home, okay?

Awww... listen, they know he is anxious without you. I don't have any doubt in my mind that they will spoil him extra and be extra sweet to him.

Totally different story, ok? We had an elderly woman that used to come in with her Cocker Spaniel to clean his very frequent ear infections. He was from the era when they overbred them and he was a force to be reckoned with. Every time she tried to clean his ears he bit the crap out of her, it was awful.  So she started bringing him to us a couple times a week so that we could clean his ears and stop him from getting another infection. At first we had to surprise him with a muzzle, if he saw it coming he would get vicious. It took 2 of us to hold him and one to clean his ears. Within a couple of weeks, our spoiling him ( even with a muzzle on!) got him to where he looked forward to the visits, enjoyed .. yes, enjoyed his ear cleaning with a wagging tail and a wiggly body. With the right people, dogs can overcome their fears. A lot of dogs are awful to bring into the back of a hospital, but become totally different dogs once mama or papa are out of the picture. I saw it all the time.

Sorry, couldn't make the long story short (I rarely can, lol) but all I am trying to say is he is probably fine. And he feels your anxiety too. And they are probably loving on your boy and winning him over so please breathe. He will be just fine, probably better than you.

Sending huge hugs... the week is more than half over!!!  One more day to the weekend! sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2

Czar is home. He's exhausted, and in pain. I think laying in a metal cage for a full day did him no favors. He didn't even react when I came home. I gave him a pain pill, so I hope he feels a bit better soon.

Oh goodness,  I'm so sorry.  I would hope they took him out several times,  geez I'm so sorry he's hurting.

Im keeping you in my thoughts.  It's been a long day.  I hope the meds kick in soon.

Well, glad he's home, but sorry he feels so whacked out.  Hopefully  a good sleep on his cozy bed, along with that pain pill, will help him bounce back in the morning.

Czar ended up eating some dinner, but was not himself the rest of the night. He seems to be feeling a bit better today. I'll talk with them at his next appointment, and make sure they change some things around for him.

Glad that sweet boy is doing better.  Yes, they DEFINITELY  need to make it an easier stay for him next time.  Give that sweet boy an extra hug for us.  Take care of YOU too!!!
