The suture ended up falling out on it's own. She couldn't find any more, so hopefully we're done with that.
Yes, it's so hard. Especially as he has at least 4 more chemo appointments, and then follow ups.
If getting the pups comes through, I'll be sure to post photos. I'll pass on the ear rubbing to him.
YAAAAAY FOR A GREAT PUPDATE ON CZAR!!!
I can only imagine how hard it is not to compare the two journeys, the feedback of the Vets, etc, etc. As hard as it is, keep in mind these are two different dogs, different make-up, different genetics, etc. I hope the Vet visits become more and more pawsitive experience with continued good results for Czar.
Do you already have a lead on the two puppies? Already sorta' picked out?
A how are YOU feeling??? What have you done for YOU lately??
Hugs

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Yes, there's no way not to compare. Particularly as Riot got almost every side effect, complication, and was on the lowest end of every survival rate based on his treatment.
Yes, the breeder has been picked and my deposit sent in. If it doesn't work out, I'll have it rolled over to another litter. I've always gone through rescues before, but I wanted parental health testing. It does nothing against cancer, but lessening the risk of other horrible problems is peace of mind I need right now. Plus, if anything were to happen to my family, they'd never end up in a shelter. Honestly, I don't have the time to do anything for me. Any spare time is spent working on things for my family or Czar. I've been taking work home for the last two weeks.

I'm gonna worry about you my friend! Remember, we have to put our own oxygen masks on first if we want to help others. Be kind to yourself and at least try to find a few minutes a day for yourself or you'll burn out. Czar and the puppies need you fresh and ready to take on the world! 🙂

Speaking of oxygen masks... you running yourself down is not going to help you get better. You need to eat good food, and rest. No rest, no healing physically or emotionally. Please try to take some time for you. Even if it is cuddled up on the couch with Czar for a nap. You don't want to end up in the hospital, that would make you even more of a mess.
Nobody here is going anywhere, your family isn't going anywhere, and your work will not go anywhere either. Please make some time for yourself. Breathing problems are no joke.

I added whole fat, unflavored Greek yogurt to Mitchell's food and sometimes added some shredded cheddar or parmesan to the mix and sometimes I alternated cottage cheese to the yogurt. He liked that probably more than anything else I tried. If I got rotisserie chicken he picked out the chicken and left the food. Ground beef was meh. I tried all kinds of things, even used jarred or home made gravy, lol. They do make these things called "toppers" that you can find in the grocery, but what I did above was most successful for us. I really worried about Mitchell's weight, sometimes I even just sat on the floor and hand fed him. Whatever it took.

Yeah, agree with Joackie....whatever or takes to get them to eat....handfeeding, whatever.
Cant remember if I mentioned this before when Riot wouldn't eat. There is one good that I cannot recommend enough as far as dogs and they LOVE it... Fresh Pet. It's in the refrigerator section of dog food. Whole Food carries it, as well as Target. Maybe feeding him off your plate and in a different location from where he usually eats.
I love that Czar captures everybody's heart everywhere he goes. He certainly has captured ours!😊

One of Mitchell's favorites was also salmon. I grill it once a week or so and i always save the skins and some meat, chop it while it's still warm and put it into ziploc bags. You can warm it up and it's stinky enough to coat all the kibble. That should be easy on his tummy too and has a lot of nutritional values.

Good boy Czar! A trip to the store for belly rubs and stew for dinner. What a special boy! Now eat up all that tasty food.

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.
