Hi all,
Just wanted to give an update for all those who are searching for answers. 10-28-2015 was our three year ampuversary and I am happy to report Clyde is still kicking ass and taking names without doing chemo. We've only had one health scare in the 3 years since the osteosarcoma diagnosis and that was a weird month and a half of extremely snotty nose, which then turned to a bloody nose that turned out to be a bacterial infection. The antibiotics didnt work so we doubled down on the holistic remedies and needless to say everything cleared up.
For all of you out there looking for answers or feel like this is a death sentence- it can be something else. We found that we appreciate each and every day with Clyde that much more. We have a almost 3 year old and a 16 month old that don't know the world without Clyde. My wife's worst fears were originally that our son would not have clyde on his first birthday... now he will have his best friend on his third. Are we lucky or is Clyde unique? I have no idea, but I do know this, If you are struggling to decide on amputation or which form of treatment you plan to use to combat this disease, dont be paralyzed by fear, read the advice here, move quickly before the cancer spreads, definitely remove the affect limb or area, destroy that primary tumor and then which ever way you go (holistic or chemo) there are no wrong ways as long as you fight. I also recommend removing all sugar and carbs from their diet, provide a charged positive environment at home, love your four legged family member without restrictions, and know that each and every day is to be celebrated. We have been lucky enough to celebrate each day for the last 3 years, and dont plan to stop anytime soon.
This forum as has been a great resource and there are truly remarkable people and dogs here who inspire, give hope and more importantly provide support. Good luck to all who had had to face the words "he/she has cancer". You can fight this, you can overcome the diagnosis, and you can be strong for your family and dog. But more than anything the best thing you can do is have hope, live with that hope and know that nothing is insurmountable. The diagnosis should not defeat you, be defiant of the rules of cancer, use everything within your arsenal and know that in the end there are no rules only actions that dictate the outcome. Clyde is a testament to that and hopefully that translates here and provides hope for those who are lost.
Raise a glass " here's to cancer....F cancer"- as dictated to me by Clyde.
Glasses are raised and dittoing everything Clyde said!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS on this jaw-dropping victory! We all go into this journey with hooe. Sometimes as challenges arise, we have to change the definition of hope.
Clyde gives us all the hope for longevity and for beating this piece of crap disease! Here he is folks...Clyde is living proof that every now and then, a dog can beat the odds and blow statistics to smithereens!!
You selected a plan of treatment you believed in and what you thought would work best for Clyde. You did your research (EXTENSIVELY SO) and you knew this would be what Clyde would want so he could just get in with living! Your commitment to the regiment was a beautiful extension of the love you jave for Clyde.
Thank you so much for updating us! Clyde is a much needed Beacon of Hope and a hero for us all!

Hoppy Ampuversary Clyde!!!
Donna, Glenn & Murphy
Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

HI Sally,
Yes the protocol is basically the same except we change the food to Nutrisca instead of the embark... one it was cheaper, and two Clyde really really likes the crunchy food over the rehydrated food.
you can find that here. http://www.dogs.....utrisca/
We also still believe heavily in the low dose radiation stone in the water and around the one around the neck. Other than that we also will feed organic canned food when we are low on boiled chicken and chicken stock.
We have only used Advantage one time in three years for a particularly nasty round of fleas and once every couple of months we only use Little city Dogs Nitenpryam capsules. http://www.litt.....25lbs.html? Might do 3 days in a row in their meal and that is it.
Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer or at least point you in the direction where I got my information.
Cheers
Happy Third Ampuversary, Clyde! You rock!
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Very well said!!!! Loved reading this post! And loved hearing about Clyde and his victories.
Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

Thanks again for the invaluable information. I'm fascinated by the "stone" and the "necklace". The healing properties found in nature should never be overlooked.
I'm really glad you updated as so often chemo is not an option...or a choice...for many and they are always looking for protocols with SUCCESSES attached!
Rock on Clyde!!!

Applawse! Applawse! YAAAYYYY!!!!
I can't believe it's been three years, wow. Thank you for returning and sharing your wonderful news with us, it's inspawrational and hopeful and the best medicine ever for anyone walking through their own Tripawd journey.
The way you have cared for Clyde shows how well you've managed to balance his emotional needs, health needs and the absolute requirement to live in the Now throughout it all. Kudos to you for being such a fabulous parent!
We all raise our glass and salute your pack. 3 cheers to you all!
Oh, got any photos? Let's see 'em!
