Many of you will know that Darcy Deerhound was diagnosed with osteosarcoma on 16th October 2007 and had a front right amputation on the same day. She had four lots of chemo which ended in January and was then very poorly for a couple of weeks. Then she lost much of her hair.
But she recovered and her hair started to come back.....black, like a pup!
She went through various stages where she looked like a giant Chinese Crested and then a Saluki and then some sort of strange Standard Poodle and now she just looks plain gorgeous.
Yesterday, we took her with us to a fun dog show for the first time since October. One of the classes was called The Girls' Looking Good, so I entered her and here is the result.
Granted, she's got no coat like any other Deerhound I've ever seen but who cares! Today we are celebrating 8 months since her diagnosis and amputation and I can safely say that our girl looks good 🙂

Sweet Darcy,
How beautiful you are! We're all so very proud of your accomplishments - both on the pageant stage, as well as your continued good health!
Barney B has just completed his 5th round of Adriamycin in May and he had a fair amount of hair loss that has not begun to grow in as yet. I'm looking forward to whatever surprises lie in store when it does finally come back.
Love and licks,
Linda and Barney B
