Hi, we are new. Im not sure where/how to post this under the question part of the forum. Our rescue dog Fred is 2 years old and lost his right hind leg about a year ago. We know that arthritis is inevitable, our question is how do we slow the process down and keep it from getting worse once he gets it ?
Dose anyone know anything about Glyeoflex ?
Welcome, your future forum posts will not require moderation. We do not have personal experience with Glycoflex, nor are we vets, but glucosamine supplements and physical therapy will help slow the progression of arthritis. Jerry used SynFlex, and we believe it helped him!

Hi Freddy,
I have a 10 year old Chow mix that was diagnosed with arthritis when she was under a year old and my Pitt mix that is an OS tripawd was warned about hip dysplasia when she was about 2. So I put them both on a food that contained about 250mg of glucosamine a day. That worked very well for a long time. Now that they are older, my chow mix has gotten a patella luxation (knee slips out of place) and the vet upped her glucosamine to about 1000mg a day. We get Glycoflex from the vets office and sometimes we just get a different brand that has the same dosage along with the chondroitin. Due to age, I just put both the girls on the higher dosage. My chow mix no longer limps as often, so I have to think its working.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

My Libby has been on Glycoflex III for over 2 years. My vet recommended it when she seemed a little stiff. It has been amazing for her. It took about 3 weeks to start seeing an improvement once she started. My vet also sees one of her litter mates and she has severe hip dysplasia. I have to believe Libby has avoided that by using the Glycoflex.
Xrays were taken pre-amp to see if her hips were strong enough to support losing a front leg. Her right hip is perfect, her left hip is arthritic but she doesn't show it at this point. I can only speak from personal experience, but it has been a good product for her.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
