Just wanted to do an update on Buddy the last couple of weeks have been rough and it's still going. He hasn't had anymore seizures but after talking with the oncologist and our vet coming back over I wanted to let you know what was going on. Both said after looking at the x-rays the mets on his lungs shouldn't be causing him problems even though they are quarter size that's still pretty small for them. They both think there is something else going on with him and tend to believe maybe it's a brain tumor, without an MRI we can't be certain though. The sad thing is the change in his attitude, he just lays around all day, he does still go up & down steps on his own but my husband normally takes him downstairs in the am.
Just keep us in your thoughts & prayers as I fear it's going to be a hard decision coming soon. As i've said, he's been with my husband for 9 years and with me for 5 I don't want him to be in any pain and I know he doesn't like being like he is. He's normally such an active dog and looks forward to everyday walks even after surgery. When you say the word walk he goes crazy but not in the last few days he just sleeps. His favorite thing is to chew on a plastic bottle and he didn't even want that last night. It's amazing the way a dog touches your life and how attached you get to them. We can't imagine our life with out Buddy Lee but we know that we have to do whats right for him and not for us!
I'm so glad to have this wonderful website to come to for answers or just to share with you how I'm feeling or what's going on! Hoping for the best but preparing for whatever is in store! Thanks to all! I will keep you posted on any changes...
Buddy & Buddy's Parents.
Buddy & Parents,
I am so sorry to hear of the change in Buddy's behavior. You guys are in my prayers. Please keep us informed.

Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
I'm so sorry to hear of Buddy's continued challenges. This disease is no less tragic for our animal friends than it is for our human ones. My thoughts continue to be with you.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Thanks for coming here to update. We're so sorry, we wish that things were better for Buddy.
So many times we wish our dogs could speak to us in English, so we can know exactly what they are feeling. But being the intelligent creatures that they are, they don't have a need for words, they say everything they need to with their eyes. The hardest thing about when our furbabies are sick and not enjoying life, is disregarding everything we know about communication, and using our hearts and our eyes to hear what they are tryiing to tell us.
We've located some resources that can hopefully help you through this decisionmaking process. Check our Resources page for Grief Support.
Many, many hugs go out to you. Please know Buddy is in our prayers. Keep us posted OK?
