Thank you for all of the advice. Jordan will be going to a pet emergency clinic and coming home Thursday. She tried on her rubber booties tonight and has been using her ramp to the yard. Our daughter thinks its a slide:) hoping she makes a speedy recovery. As we have been telling people what we are doing their responses have made us feel like we are doing something wrong...put her down has been the response. I hope she can prove everyone wrong and find new joy in our new normal.
I'm glad to hear that she'll be looked after. If you need anything at all we're here to help. Since many of us have faced those same negative reactions toward our decisions, you might get a kick out of some of these comebacks we've shared in the forums:
"Poor doggie" comments - how do you react?
What is wrong with people? Good comebacks!

Annie anyone who makes those comments to you from now on you tell them your new friend erica is gonna come chop off their leg.
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Jordan came through her surgery well yesterday. I took her to the 24 hour pet center for overnight and she did very well overnight, is walking and it was so nice to see her walking on a leash unassisted this morning when I picked her up. She did need to go back to the vet (hasn't been home yet) for bleeding, but just to monitor her. Her blood loss isn't bad, just needs to be watched. Trying to decide if she should come home tonight or if I should take her back to the center tonight to have her watched. Happy that she seems to be doing well walking.
Yay for Jordan! This is great news.
What did they tell you about the bleeding? Is it a seroma (mostly fluid and just a little blood that the body needs to drain out) or was it actual blood loss?
Let us know what you decided to do as far as where she spent the night. We're here to help, just holler!
