Wow, Alison, what a scare !! I believe after reading this post, that this all happened for a reason, and Shelby kept little Jasper safe through this......it is meant to be, all of this.....glad she is safe, and I am particularly glad she found you as her 'madre'.....!!
Much Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
Now that had to a rush for sure. I think so many of us had it where our babies got out of a collar or just took off. Scares the hell out of you but she's safe, your safe that's all that matters. Just love her and cuddle a lot she's probably thinking she did something wrong from all the commotion. We got a harness for our Abby who's blind. I'm able to secure it well around her tummy and beck were she can't escape. Believe me she's tried. They make those harnesses in such cute girly patterns too, which makes fun buying! Jasper stay close to Mom!
Hugs,
Esther and her Snoop
Allison,
So happy that you have decided to keep jasper! I truly think after hearing these stories that Shelby for SURE had a part in this match! Keep showing her affection and she will trust you in no time! I think her and Cody could have an ear competition! She's adorable!
Lots of love,
Cody and family
Cody is our 7 year old Australian Heeler mix boy. Diagnosed on 2/20/14 and became a tripawd 2/21/14! We chose a homeopathic approach and he is being treated by Dr. Loops our of NC.
Such good news that you're ready to admit Jasper's staying. BTW, we all knew she wasn't going anywhere so, YAY!
Scary stuff last night, huh? Sage did a similar thing to me the second week I had her, lol. I think its a hazing thing for rescues, let's see who's new family freaks out the most! I have a martingale collar so no more slips anymore and way more humane than a prong or choke collar. So don't feel bad about the escape, it happens to most of us. Shelby is definitely talking to her!
Sending love and good wishes!
Mandy and Mav
Maverick is a wonderful miniature australian shepard born with a malformation of the front right radius/ulna, amputation performed on 11/4/13 at 6 months old. Follow his story at mavericksjourney.tripawds.com.
Wow, what a scare! I too have a harness for Lucy ( she slips a collar frequently) and a choke chain( I only use it of leash walking then remove it) for Chan. So glad she is safe. Guess you could have skipped your run yesterday. Sounds like Shelby is filling her in on how best to freak you out. LOL love from, Lori and Ty
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
WHEEEEEW! Jasper Lily! No more scares,,okay?
And good for you Alison for gettjng her to come to Madre!, And you really did make a good point about the confusion that must be going,on in her sweet little head. She's been with yiu two weeks and is yet jn another "home"....yeah, that would cause a lot of uncertainty for sure!
She's got tl be thinkkng that home is where her madre is and that will helpmher feel more secure.
And Shelby pulled the same stunt?? Now THAT's a little wink and a smile from Shelby to you! Yean, she sentnyou Jasper Lily...no doubt!!
Weneed pictures of her in her new collar!
So glad all is well!
Love!
Sally and Happy Hannah

Jasper is so adorable! She and Shelby share their photogenic tendencies! I'm so glad you have come to this decision. Sorry you had to go through such a scare on the streets. Jasper will come round again. Two steps forward, one step back.
Having Jasper in your life doesn't diminish the love you and Shelby shared. It honours it. I'm so happy for you,

Thank you all.... we are both a work in progress but we are getting better.... Shelby is definitely guiding us every step of the way!

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
