Mona also was not interested in the litter box. I had cut the front down so she could easily walk right into it but she didn't. Instead she would go any place else such as a corner in the bedroom. She even jumped into an open desk drawer and went there!
I think the medication made her a little strange. About the time she got her stitches out when I finally replaced the new litter with the old stuff that was in the garbage but she didn't go into the box but balanced herself on her three legs on the lip of the box. Then she went out of the box and leaned over to cover up. She got better over time and doesn't walk in but jumps in.
I wouldn't worry yet about the amount he's going but certainly contact the vet if still concerned.Â
I'm happy to hear he's purring and walking. That's always good news. Invite a friend over, perhaps Teddy will enjoy the extra attention.

If he went with decent volume sounds like he is probably ok (but I am not a vet). Â Otis didn't go very frequently in the first few days. Â I just let him sleep unless I knew that he absolutely had to go due to time. Â
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.  Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma. Â
Wherever they are, they are together.
Thanks for your input! I was kind of thinking along the same lines as Otis.....in thinking teddy will probably go when he can't wait any longer. But for now he sleeping soundly here next to me. I don't to make my vet regret giving me his cell number lol so I'm very thankful for you guys!Â
Other than not wanting to pee or poop, sounds like Teddy is doing well! So, he peed yesterday, right? May have to take him to vet in morning if he doesn't go tonight. They can "express"'his bladder if necessary. Not pooping is less urgent than getting him to pee. Got a feeling he's gonna pee a small pond tonight!
Hang in there! Recovery doesn't last forever!
Hugs!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Teddy went both 1 and 2 this morning!!! I was relieved I called my mom to tell her haha. I was preparing myself for a dreaded trip to the Emergency Vet....so glad that didn't need to happen. Teddy sure does make a mess right now, I'm getting better at handling that clean up! Watching him try to cover it up was a little heartbreaking but usually his big sister Addy does that for him anyway! I keep them apart for the most part right now so they won't be tempted to play.Â
Hooray for pee and poop! Â That is a big milestone - sounds like Teddy is right on track in his recovery.

Teddy got his bandages off yesterday and Doctor was very pleased with the healing! Teddy seems to be much happier and moving around a little more. He still sleeps a lot, but that's fairly normal for him anyway! Hopefully the toughest part is over now.....thanks for the support getting through that time!

YAAAAAAAAAY FOR TEDDY! I kmow he feels so much better getting all those bandages off! The toughest part of the recovery should, indeed, be behind you!
Heah, it's still early in the recovery, but now his ssparkle should start to come back slowly, but surely! Recovering from majore surgery and adapting to walking on three legs zaps their energy a lpt at first. Teddy will get more stamina back over the next several weeks. Although, it sounds like Teddy enjoys being a couch potato!
Looking forward ro more updates WITH pictures!

Really happy to hear things are progressing as they should. Yaaay!
I like that you know he's already a heavy snoozer and aren't worried about it. Lots of times during this process we tend to forget all these little habits our animals used to have before surgery, so when they're recovering we panic about things. You obviously have a really close bond with him and know him well.

Sorry for the absence! Yes I have a crazy bond with this cat, and now it's even stronger! We had a minor setback, an infection in one of the incisions spots; so we had 10 of antibiotics and cone wearing! Teddy hated the cone, but he was a good boy. Seems to be healed now and he's moving wonderfully! Does seem to tire out quick, but running on 3 legs can't be easy! His sister is so happy he wants to play again. As soon as I figure out to add a picture I will! Thanks again!

Oh, great news that the infection is behind him and he is more himself! Â Thanks for the update!

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. Â His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.
Woot! Woot! Yay for Teddy's recovery! That's pawesome news.
Here is a post about adding images to the Forums. If you'd like assistance just meow.

It's not a "crazy"'bond with Teddy! It's clearly a very loving bond with Teddy! 🙂 You are a wonderful advocate for Teddy. Good job on getting that infection identified and cleared ul pronto!
Yep, walking on three legs does use a lot of energy. No worries. He's not concerned about how long he's running. Playing with his sister and snuggling with you seems to suit him just fine!
Hope you can figure out the photos! Can't wait to see more Teddy!
