Paris had a chest X-ray today and our worst fears were realized with devasting results. This was her first X-ray after completing chemo. Her lungs are full of mets, multiple small tumors all over both lungs. I tried to prepare myself for this but honestly it is so painful I can hardly stand it. I hate cancer!
They started her on Prednisone. She does not seem to have any respiratory distress at this time. Now more than ever we will do what we can to make each day count with our sweet girl.
Loving my girl one day at a time,
Gineej & Paris
Grateful for every moment we had with Paris…..no regrets!
Honoring her life by opening our hearts & home to Addy!
We so clearly remember what these feeling are like. When you find out it's like being taken back to the moment you found out your baby had cancer. After fighting to stay pawsitive through the amputation and recovery, it feels so unfair to be put back in the position of feeling powerless.
But remember, Paris is a survivor. She is strong and courageous, and you can be too by following her lead. Remember, dogs have the blessed fortune of not knowing they have the mets and understanding what it means. She will go on living life just as before. Look at those eyes of hers!
Make the most of whatever time is left, spoil that beautiful girl rotten! There are things you can do to keep her comfortable, and the best thing to keep her spirits up is to be strong. We know that's hard. But you can come and talk to us anytime you need to OK?
We send our love your way, and thank you for being here to share this difficult day.

Thank you Seanne & spirit Wrigley, Rene & spirit Jerry. You are both very kind & generous.
I appreciate your love and support and the reminder of how to face this. I will do better tomorrow, I needed today to absorb the news. As far as I am concerned she can have anything she wants!

Anything she wants is always a good thing. We became especially fond of our trips to Baskin Robbins for a big scoop of ice cream for Wrigley - and for Rookie and the rest of us too.
I remember the day we found out about Wrigley's mets. I was mad the entire day. It was a gloomy day anyway, so it all kind of fit. But the next day was the day we took Wrigley to the snow, and we played catch with snowballs. She showed us that day, that lung mets don't mean a thing- we just kept on living life to the fullest each and every day after that. We celebrated each and every day as a blessing and found the lesson in everything.
You and Paris can do this- and you will always have our love and support.

I'm so sorry Gineej...it isn't fair - not of this is - our beautiful and sweet babies...they don't deserve it, but the good thing is that they don't know about the cancer - at least the way we do. Absorb this horrible shock and take a day or 2 (no more!) to be angry and cry until you cry it all out...then LIVE. Don't waste any precious time mourn the living - she is still here and there will be plenty of time to grieve ... later....and we will be here for you - promise.
Much love, many, many prayers and healing energy to you and Paris.

I'm sorry to hear the news, but don't let it keep you down. We all know in our hearts when we get that first diagnosis that we will likely have this news at some time along the way. Be thankful for the time you've already had, and be thankful for each day you are given going forward. Never forget the motto, One day at a time. Live each day to its fullest.
Hugs and support to both of you.

So sorry to hear about Paris' lung mets. Please just make the most of each day you have right now. I understand how you feel, although my Nova does not have lung mets yet (to my knowledge), but she was blinded by glaucoma just a few days ago. The pain from the glaucoma is out of control, and while we are trying to control it, it is not an easy process. I got really negative when I found out she was blind, but then realized that she could feel my negativity, so I changed my tune. Grieving is normal of course, but there is time left, so do all you can to enjoy it and make the most of it with Paris.
Big Sloppy Dane Kisses to you and Paris from Nova!
