Thanks Comet for helping get that one straight. I had to take her rescue posting, copy the name, paste it in word, then play with the font until I assured myself that it is indeed two V's. We have been told that the young lady who had Avvy throught that Abby was too common so she decided to change the b's to v's. Go figure. Also, why anyone would think that a Standard Poodle would make a good 100% outside dog is beyond me, but to think of it I am not sure what breed or mixed breed would make a good 100% outside dog. Guess it just goes along with everything else this community shares.
Thanks to all for the very kind words and the support. I have always had the highest respect to those who foster and rescue. This experience has only heightened that respect.
Prayers to all and we hope that Avvy will not take so much time that I cannot become a productive supporter.
Spirit Cherry's Dad – Bob
PS: I hope that you have noticed that in the the tail-wagging Charites in Cherry's signature, one has four paws while the other is a tripawd. One each for the two distinct sections of her life.
Hooray for Bob and Avvy, too! I am sooooo glad that you have another dog in your life. The new ones never REPLACE the old, but they sure go a long way to fill the hole in the heart.
She surely is a beauty!
Hope to see a lot more photos.
Hang in there.

Va Va VOOM! She is Hot-to-Trot. Congratuations! It takes great courage to pick up again, especially with all you went through. It just seems so selfish not wanting to have another doesnt it?
There are so many doggies out there that NEED good humans!!!!!!
The quest for world domination continues on three legs. Comply minions!

I have created a web page for Chloe (formerly Avvy) where I presently have six photos. It will be more of a photo gallery as she adjusts to her new home. (or is it us to her?) Please visit at: http://home.com...../chloe.htm

Bob - she is just gorgeous! Those pictures are so wonderful! The faces of standard poodles always seemed so human to me with their animated expressions and Chloe is certainly no exception. But she is an exceptional rescue and I'm so happy for you that she has come into your lives. What a beautiful girl and we can't wait to hear more stories about her new furever home. Congratulations again!!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Awww Bob, she looks like such a happy girl! How wonderful that the universe brought you together. We can't wait to follow along with her adventures!

Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

She looks so beautiful. I don't think I have ever managed to keep any of my dogs coats so pristine! I am so glad you have rescued her. It sounds like she has found the perfect place to land. I hope you enjoy learning all about her and building a bond that last forever. What a lucky girl!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Congratulations Bob she is beautiful!!! She is one lucky lady to have found such a wonderful loving home and to have owners with huge hearts full of love to share with this beautiful four legged girl. I must confess that I haven't been on this site very often in the past few months I found it too hard to read the stories of all the wonderful Tripawds that continue to get this terrible disease. For some reason I was drawn here this morning and now I know why!
I wish you many years of happiness with your new girl and I know that there a couple of Tripawd angels are together smiling down on the new addition.
With warm regards,
Darlene (Angel Tehya's Mom)
A doll! I could really do some serious 'playing dress up' with her!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I orginally posted that I would wait until I had her coat under control before posting any photos on this site. Well this weekend, Chloe recieved her very first "Big Girl" hair cut. Because of her separation anxiety issues, I decided that I would do the job myself despite not being very good at sissoring the legs. So, below are three photos from that tasking with hyperlinks to larger photo versions. The first two are nearly identical poses of her looking out upon her backyard – just before her trim and just after. The third is a broad shot of her in the side yard – probably the only moment that she was still enough for ASA 400 film.
Thanks for tolerating my posts.
