Hi Everyone - The 9th marks my 8 month ampuversary and wow - Mom cannot believe that much time has already passed. We went for chest xrays today and blood work and of course, as you may imagine, my self-proclaimed "neurotic over me" mommy was a nervous wreck all day...but she actually did a pretty good job of covering it up - but we fur pals know better don't we!!!

Mom said there is no better gift than seeing Kecia come over with a big smile on her face and arms opened wide saying that everything is A-OK!!!

Reflecting on the past 8 months...mom has done a pretty good job staying in the moment and living the day for what it is..."today". Sometimes she gets distracted with work and other day to day chores and loses sight of what is truly, truly important - but she has learned how to refocus that energy and attention to where it needs to be and where she wants it to be - fairly quickly...sometimes faster than others. I am trying to teach her how to stay in that moment...in the day ALL of the time, but I think that it is just one of the fundamental differences between man and dog...but that is also what makes us a perfect match - man just doesn't teach dog - dog teaches man (that is if they chose to listen) and mom seems to think that we have a lot more to teach our pawrents than they have to teach us. I guess that I've taught her a lot of wonderful lessons...like how to be happy to see a loved one just because you're getting to see them that day, taking time out for playtime EACH day, taking time out for exercise, taking time to roll in the grass (well, she doesn't do that, but she'll walk with me and listen to nature and smell the fresh air), taking a nap just because it's a great idea and oh yeah...her favorite - never stay angry...but I'm just doing what comes naturally to us - loving life and everything in it for what it is - today.

Mom and I have had this incredible physical journey together...and the path is ever changing - but we go through it together like the soul mates we are knowing that one day, our physical journey with turn into more of a spirit journey...but a journey that continues nonetheless...knowing that we will never leave one another's side. That brings us a lot of comfort.

Mom and I send love and healthy wishes to all tripawds here on earth and love and gratitude to those that have moved to the other side who take watch over us. A special thanks to Spirit Jerry for your help when we have asked for it - the signs you have sent us were truly beautiful and breathtaking and left us filled with peace and love. This journey would have been a much more difficult one without you and your beloved pawrents.

All our love,

Zeus and Mom

Hi Zeus & Mom, this is also a lesson I learnt when my grandmother passed away:  Making an effort to spend time with loved ones and really making the best of TODAY...  I am glad that you are doing so well - we are really excited about your results, Zeus!!

Lots of love, Ansunette & Dee xxx

Wow Zeus, that is AWESOME! Yahhhooooo!

What an incredibly beautiful, articulate and heartfelt way to describe your journey, and the many lessons you two have learned together. Thank you so much for sharing with us. We feel so blessed and fortunate to have you as a part of our family, today and in the years ahead. We will always be here for you and your Mom.

Many, many hugs going out to you. Yipee! Go celebrate all over again my friend, you've made it to another great milestone!

Hurray for Zeus!!  It is so nice that he is still free of lung mets.  I know how you feel about waiting for the results...I was nauseous the whole day that I took Tazzie for her 3 month rads and I had to have one of the other doctors look at them first.  I hope Tazzie can do as well as Zeus.

Greetings Heather & Zeus,

Happy Ampuversary!! Thank you for posting this... as always, you provide an insightful reminder of what to be truly grateful for. Especially, during this sometimes stressful and commercially orientated time of year.

This is truly wonderful news for the both of you. I don't know why we are sometimes put through these situations. However, I do believe they are life lessons to be learned through all of this. Our precious pets are gifts, the best gift we could ever receive!

Thank you for being a friend and for reminding us of our truly priceless blessings of health and friendship.Innocent

YIPPEE!!!  Laughing  Soooooooo... incredibly happy to hear the great news about Zeus!!!  Yes, the lessons they teach us are truly gifts... no doubt about that.  What starts out to be, "Why us?" turns out to be, "Oh, wow, never thought I'd get HERE from THERE but thank you God".  Thank you for your words of wisdom Heather.  You and Zeus always exude such incredibly pawsitive energy on this forum.  You both are truly an inspiration to us!!!  THANK YOU!!!  Smile

Congrats Zeus!!!

It is truly amazing what we can learn from our pets.  Enjoy every day to the fullest.

No matter how tired I am when I get home from work, I always make time to rough-house with Dexter as long as she can take it (usually longer than I can!).

Happy Holidays Indeed!

Hi Zeus & Mom,

I loved reading everything you wrote in your post.  Congratulations, Zeus, on not having any lung mets!

It's so true that we learn so much from our beloved dogs to "stay in the moment...in the day ALL of the time" if we will only listen and follow their teachings.  If I could only learn this, I'd quit worrying about something that happened or being frantic about an event that has yet come to pass.

Thank you so much, Zeus & Mom, for this beautiful post.  I am going to print out this entire thread because your message means more to me than you'll ever know.  I am so glad you contributed these important feelings and words, I'm going to try to change my way of thinking and listen more to what Blazer (my miniature poodle) is trying to show me.

Love, Blazer, Kitty Kimber & Mom (Vicki)

Hey Kim,

Yeah, doesn't he look fantastic? He looks sooooo soft and cuddly.

Yes, the software is super easy. My Mom knew nothing about how to work with photos before! It's only for PCs though. If you want to learn more, let us know and we'll PM you.
