My beautiful cocker spaniel who is 15 years old is going in today for her post op check up.  I just wanted to say that never in my life would I have thought this journey of being a Tripawd mom would have been as "easy" (and I use that term loosely), because she is now cancer free and doesn't have that oozing and bleeding ugly tumor on her leg.  ugh She amazes me daily in her progress.  She was actually walking about 4 or 5 steps (hops) on her own on Day 5 post op.   Yesterday, she actually was able to use the bathroom (No. 1) without me even holding her up with her sling.   I was shocked!  The reason I say that is because her good leg, she actually had ACL surgery on that this past December, so to say that her recovery is short of anything but a miracle is just that.  She also has Cushing's disease and she seems to be on the mend.

After her vet appt. today if we get the go ahead, I will start her with hydro physical therapy.

I just wanted fur parents out there who are deciding about becoming a Tripawd parent of an elderly dog, it is possible.

Love to all you Tripawds and Fur Baby parents out there!heart

Robin

Robin that is wonderful news! Thank you so much for taking time to share Sadie's story here. I saw your blog post the other day and fell in love with her. What a champ!

The amputation decision is hard enough, but it's even tougher for pet parents of senior dogs. Thank you for sharing Sadie's amazing story and giving hope to so many people who feel hopeless when they get the diagnosis.

We love you Sadie!

This is just fantastic to hear! Well done for giving her a chance. I can imagine it wasn't an easy decision, but she has repaid your faith in her a thousand times over. This is such a happy post, and it makes me happy to read it.

Sending love to you and Sadie,

Meg, Clare and Angel Pie ❤️

Way to go Sadie! Keep rocking it!

David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)

Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.

He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
