My Name is Ashley, I am the founder as president of Take the Lead Pitbull Rescue in Wv. I have a huge passion for animals . I really have a place in my heart for pitties and rotties. I rescued a rott pup 16 weeks old of craigslist being sold for large amount due to being a "purebred" , I asked for pictures just being curious and my heart melted when I seen him I could tell he was not receiving the needs he needed. I knew I had to rescue him as we met up as soon as I seen him my heart dropped this poor boy whom should have been approx 40 pounds weighed about 10. Skin and bones with a huge bite on back of his shoulder blades with missing hair. I then proceeded to ask questions I learned he never seen a vet ,no shots, they dewormed him (so they said) they fed him dollar general (Pet Evo?) I think it's call $3 food basically. He is a working dog and he was not getting any nutrient. I couldn't bare leave him so I talked man down as far as I could and brought him home. First thing first a bath where he ended up needing 5 due to being I feasted with them as well as taleworms(hence why he was skinny not that feeding cheap food wasn't the issue as well) he went to vet he is doing great but sadly learned he is in need of amputation. As he had a break and they thought he would be okay as he shown so signs of pain but it has turned out that it needs to go. He's in NC with friend as well as our bully as we are having to relocate due to a neighbor who never meet our dogs is scared because they are labeled under "vicious breeds" which juggs our 95 pound bully is a baby scared of ceiling fans and Tyson limped and couldn't even catch you if he wanted to the only thing our boys are guilty of is kissing to death. But our main focus right now is to learn everything we can to help Tyson (18 weeks now) adapt well. We will not be there most of his recovery as were 6 hours away but plan to visit and get everything ready for when he heals (as vet does not want him traveling while healing and I agree).
