Chilean Lava Hound
Grew up in the resort town Chaiten in Southern Chile, when suddenly a volcano erupted. "Whoooah".
My people were evacuated with the rest of the humans in town, but they were told the four-legged and furry ones had to stay behind.
So, my family locked me in the house to keep me safe, telling me they'd be back very soon.
Well, then the house started moving off the foundation and I can't remember much after that.
Next thing I know I am outside with a bunch of other confused animals, my left front leg hurt very bad.
After a few weeks it stopped hurting, but it smelled funny.
I visited the docks every day, waiting for my family to come home. They never did.
A year went by and a ship arrived at the docks. Some kind humans on board with food and clean beds for us.
They took me in.
A nice lady from America fell for my brown eyes (works every time!), and flew me with six other dogs from Chile to America. After a long road trip from Southern Cali to Oregon, they took me to the doctor. All I remember is cookies......! When I woke up, the bad arm was gone. Just gone....
"WHOAAA!!!"
Cool....I can run, with out dragging the old weight around. Awesome. The ladies will dig me now.
Wait, what's that? Waaaaaah!!!! They snipped my cojones off...dios mios!
Oh well, too many puppies in the world already anyway.
So, long story short, my foster parents fell in love with me (yeah DUH!!), and I've been living in Portland ever since.
I'm happy. My mum gets annoyed when people call me "poor puppy", because I am not - I am very lucky, but I tell her to chill.
She's a cool chic - so is my daddy....wait, not a chic, but cool....hehe
BTW, the lady, Vanessa, who brought me to the USA is a film maker.
She says I'm a star, but I just like her for the cuddles.
I'll be in a documentary called "Lost Dogs" directed by Vanessa Schulz of 21st Paradigm Films, a non profit organization.
Check it out. She saved mine and my companeros lives.
I hear they are looking for corporate and private sponsors as well as donors.
