Just joined tripawds today after learning my 6 year old grandog, Hallie, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma...right rear leg. We took her to vet after a slight limp of a week became more severe yesterday. He xrayed and thought it was the cancer, but sent her on to an oncologist for the more formal diagnosis. The oncologist says that she is a good candidate for the amputation and stressed that mostly to relieve pain. My daughter, Hallie's mom, will take her for her surgery tomorrow, as she feels the sooner the better to relieve her pain. But we are so distressed over this, even though, we know it's what's needed. We will continue to read here for advice and support.
