I’m a veterinary technician who recently adopted a dog that was relinquished to a friend’s pet hospital. Newly tripod. He lost his front right leg in September due to a fracture his owners couldn’t pay to have fixed. They wanted to euthanize, but the clinic worked with them to do a low cost amputation instead. A couple months later the owners came back wanting to euthanize for behavioral issues related to phantom limb pain. The clinic said no, but you can relinquish, and that’s how I got my new best friend!
