I rescue, foster and volunteer. I have two tripods of my 4 dogs (all rescues). The tripods were foster failures and lost their legs due to injury. One small mix was hit by a car and the owner could not afford the ER care so a rescue took her in and I fostered then adopted. Her front leg was amputated as they could not save it. My other tripod is a large old English Coonhound that lived a rough life and was ultimately turned out and shot. When he was found the buckshot in his hind leg had already caused infection in the bone and he required amputation. I acquired him again as a foster failure. Both have no idea they are missing a digit. Their recoveries were quite easy from their surgeries an they have no problems with steps, running and jumping up on furniture.
